The red enamel has fallen out the C of my MC Stradale dash badge.

If I had it, I could glue it back in and Maserati want silly money for a new one.

Before I do order it, has anyone got an old one with the C red enamel still in place...might be able to scavenge it???

Nah, thats sound like a bodge. New one ordered, £68 plus VAT with my usual discount from Meridien.

They all do that. When you look at the cars for sale, half of them are missing the red inserts. Mine was missing one letter when I bought it at 12 months old, Maserati wanted something like £110 to fit a new badge but in fairness when pushed, they accepted that it’s a design fault and replaced it under warranty. Which was good because a few weeks later the new inserts fell out - didn’t have the energy to go through the chat again so glued it back in myself.
Conclusion : if you keep the car out of direct sunlight at all times you should be ok.......... Italian weather???

New one on order about £68 and yes, you have to remove the facia to release the securing bits from behind. I may see if I can tap out the red bits on the new ones and hot glue them back in again. It’s because the metal part is chromed then the enamel is flooded is and it cant grip it.

Haha. If you had given it to me, I would have then offered it to Matt so you have saved me some effort :D

Good thread this - silly question but should BOTH the M and the C of the emblem be in red? I only have a red "C" and the M is colourless; up until this thread, I thought that was original :) !

Yep, you’ve lost one.

Currently in a warranty claim situation on this and awaiting news; if anyone else has claimed successfully under their original warranty for this specifically, it would be good to know to support the claim further if required. Saying that, Maserati have historically been excellent on prior claims.

Hi Craig, per my earlier post, having quoted a price to replace the whole badge they did do it under warranty. It’s not a massive bill but you’ll note that virtually every car for sale is missing an insert or two so there’s no denying that it’s a design fault and should be a warranty claim.
As I said, the new one fell apart within a few weeks and I just couldn’t be bothered with all the grief of taking it back in, so glued in the insert myself.
We bought our cars at about the same time, how has the ownership been? Approaching two years in and I still can’t imagine changing mine.
What about warranty? Will you / did you extend yours? I have to make that call in a couple of months.
Mark.

The dealer solution to replace it seems to be to just leaver it out and then stick the new one in without the retaining washers on the back (judging by the fact that the washers fell out when I removed the dash). So it should be cheaper than you think!

Hello Mark - good to hear from you and great to hear positive experiences. I have put c.10k on the car since purchase 2 yrs ago and still enjoying it enormously - every single drive is an experience which is one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place. About to press the button on the extended warranty for yrs 4 & 5 - far from cheap, but the peace of mind is important and I intend to continue using the Strad in all seasons as has been the case since I bought it in 2017. Just had the pre-warranty extension check actually which didn't surface anything.

Ironic that I have just swapped out winter tyres though - when this weekend looks to be sub 7c temperatures at times :(

I think you’ll find that the previous owner pulled the original badge out and sat a new one in place without washers as they seemed pointless and not worth dismantling the dash for. I suspect the old washers that fell out had been there since this heavy handed action.

It had been levered out yes. We noted this when we removed Zep’s facia for the CarPlay install. As we pulled it there was a lot of clinching and a passenger footwell full of spring clip star washers.

Just so you know, the new emblem at £70 does not come with new retainers.

Ah! I thought it was the dealer. Either way, it does seem the most sensible way to do it!
