Guys, even at this early stage I thought I would post this event up.

Whilst chatting Autoshields owner Marios last week, he showed me a few photos on his iphone of a 1950s Alfa Romeo coupe ( the exact 4/5 word model and number escaped me!) which he told me hes going to be driving in next year with the American owners son.

Hopefully more details and photos to follow.

Its an event I'd hoped to see some day.........next year just might be it!

That Ferrari 250 SWB (i think), stunning.

It is indeed a SWB and a thing of beauty.

I have been idling with the possibility of the MM as well, thinking of getting the car train from paris to as far south as possible and then driving over to Brescia... in the Alfa! Sarah had her first ride in it today and declared it fantastic so it's a possibility! Might need a bit of work first, nice to push a bit more power out and have some better brakes for a distance like that. It's a fun little thing to drive, but strictly a 65-70mph car for cruising!

Lewis, there is a link to the train that goes from Holland to Brescia or Alessandro........pricey enough for what you're getting......

Newbie on the forum, hello to all those I have not yet been in contact with.

Wife and I were in Tuscany for a month in May and found ourselves trailing the 1000 Miglia and saw this fantastic Maserati A6 GCS (1948) suffering from a broken belt in a service station.

Quite a performance between the Japanese team and their crew who spoke no Italian and the guys from the service station (surprisingly they spoke no Japanese!) but universal sign language cured the fault so they could continue.

An incredibly enjoyable few hours following them around Siena so we are planning on taking in the whole thing next year with the Grandstand Motor Sports Tour. Should be a great 12 days, made only more enjoyable I guess if I finally get myself a Maserati to do it in!

Welcome Nick - interesting there is an organised tour for the MM, I shall Google that when I'm not on my phone! A few days in the Italian sunshine would be a terrific way to have some Alfa-based fun :)

I can certainly see the sense in that Frank... However, that looks like an amazing holiday. Judging by the cars there and the distances travelled the Alfa probably won't keep up so might be a job for a bigger car, who knows what we might take - the Marcos would be a hoot for me, not so much for us both...

Hmm, will run it by her soon, it's a long way away though.

Its the twice the distance and two ferrys Lewis that makes it a bind......plus the ferry to GB from NI....are stupid prices.....and that irks me! Time to move to France!!!

This usual suspect will be well up for this , count me in , happy to train down from Holland Germany or France , but will want to do the Alps passes, Schlumph museum and the Nurburgring on the way home after the mille , plenty of time for some planning
