On the list, we have decided that this year will be our last Le Mans and my mate and I are going to be ticking off other great Motor Races over the next few years, Monaco GP is on the list.

I've done Monaco a couple of times, it's great for atmosphere, rubbish for actually seeing the race. One thing to do is head to Nice for a night out then take a helicopter in from Nice airport to the race. It's not expensive (maybe £150 each) but gets you the full James Bond feeling!!

A boat such as this this (in size, age, style) will set you back about £10M. So quite a lot. But it’ll charter for around £150,000 per week, so you don’t actually need to rent it out for that many weeks per year to justify it.

That said, a hard Brexit will see this summers chartering demand drop dramatically. So it’s probably best to sit tight on your £10M for the moment, than snap up a bargain in a years time.

It was on the market for £17.4m euro last year. A weeks charter starts at 180k euro. 100 weeks charter to get your money back !

Only if you're making 100% profit. I know nothing about running super yachts but I'd have thought 500-1000 weeks would be close to the truth.

We went to Monaco in 2001, staying in Nice and trained it in each morning.
Didn't have a clue what was happening just a brief whoosh of cars going past.
Maybe better now with mobile devices to keep you up to date.
Was spoilt somewhat having my wallet nicked while on the train journey in on the first Saturday morning, then queueing at the Monaco police station with 20 others having experienced the same.
Within 20 mins of getting off the train they had spent 3k on my credit card, got it back though, but a lesson learned.

Yep, my man maths is very simplistic. The management, maintenance, mooring and crew costs must be significant. A problem I’m confident that I’m highly unlikely to ever have to worry about !

Plus running costs. I had to fire the crew of my gin palace. I row it myself now.*

*not true, but Mrs Crud does like the idea of a day boat for pootling around the coast.
