Motorclassica - Melbourne

For those living in Melbourne or visiting this weekend, a reminder of the Motorclassica Concours d'Elegance on at the Old Exhibition Building in Carlton.
I managed to sneak away from my other committments yesterday afternoon to have a look at the display indoors.
Some beautiful cars that one would not see at too many other functions.
Not too many Maseratis, although a yellow Mistral Convertible and a red Ghibli owned by the same person on display (are you a member on this Forum perhaps?).
A few photos below to tweak everyone's interest!
You will have to excuse the fettish for all things Lancia; but the Aurelia B20 was absolutely stunning after a 30 year restoration (& I thought I was bad taking 19 years).
Enjoy.

Cheers for those Scarlan.....stunning cars.......B20s have a huge following considering how few were made, a remarkable number have survived and have been restored...an all time great!

Got an Aurelia B12 saloon to restore myself.......won't be spending 19......or 30 yrs on it though!!!!!!!

I spoke to the owner's son who lifted the rope and allowed me a much closer look at the car.
He was incredibly friendly and showed me a book the owner had printed of all the restoration work that had been done.
Absolutely every aspect of the car was clinically clean.
A lot of people describe a really clean engine bay as something you could eat your breakfast from; well I think one could perform surgery in this car.
Stunning.
I asked him whether there are any sedans in Australia and he did know of a couple he has seen over the years.

Please feel free to link the images.
I am on that Forum as well, but tend to spend more time on the UK Montecarlo Forum as it is more particular to the Montecarlo.
I will see if I have any other photos that I can upload that are any good.

The surprising thing about the Muira was that it was missing the eye lashes on the head lights.
I am trying to go to the outside display on today, but have to juggle work and family commitments.
Yesterday's was held in very poor weather and featured approximatley 25 to 30 E-type Jaguars, and a range of Ferraris.
I am fairly sure the Porsche Car Club has their Concourse on today, so there is bound to be some nice Porsches there.
At least the forecast is better; approximatley 27 degrees C and sunny.
