Well, end of an era. My Ghibli is going back to the lease co. Shame to see it go, really enjoyed driving it while I have had it. Diesel, never put a foot wrong, totally reliable. Great GT for doing miles in. Thought I would send some photos.7242972430724317243272433

Im not, with Covid not really doing any miles so I have bought a 4200 GT as a bit of a toy. I did have a BMW 840i Gran Coupe on order.

I tried one and it sounded and drove very nicely. Far more distinctive than the BMW equivalent (and I'm a BMW fanboy).

Agreed, decent chassis too. The petrol of course drives better but the diesel is none too shabby

That’s because the have speakers in the exhaust.
I mean, for example, following one, or a drive by, still sounds good. Sound simulators are despicable, of course. But in general, unless you are that t1t Doug Devalue, (or whatever his youtube name is) guy in the US, these are nice cars.

You hear the speakers from outside. They are genuinely in the exhaust not piped interior sound like some others.

The shut lines, especially the boot one annoy me. Do like them inside though.

If you need a diesel and you don't want to be the same as everyone else then the Maser and Porsche(s) are streets ahead in terms of rarity / presence.. And plenty of companies ram speakers into the exhaust systems.. Audi for sure on their A7's. SQ5's etc etc..

I’ve got an A7 biturbo with the exhaust speakers. It does kind of help. A bit. I’ve added a kufatec sound booster which allows you to program different sounds. Unfortunately they all have a ‘cleaning mortar out of the mixer with half bricks’ background soundtrack. Diesels are rubbish but I’m sure Maserati ones sound better.

i have to say I enjoyed the car. Overall a nice place to be in and cover some miles. Its engine lets it down when compared to other Diesels. But it did make a nice noise, even thought its kinda fake. I had a 640D Gran Coupe before the Ghibli. Now put that engine into the Ghibli. That would be a real machine. Sad to see it go.
