Feeling pretty chuffed today!
The sun is out, my car is back from a 5 week holiday at the body shop with a freshly painted front end. Re finished wheels fitted and a long long list of jobs completed which have helped to keep me just about sane over the lockdown. Over the moon with how she is looking now!

Always had a thing for the Gransport and this car kept popping up on my radar on Autotrader for a number of weeks. The seller was miles away so I tried to forget about it but it kept cropping up again! Have to say I fell in love pretty hard, and I then did something that I would normally never ever dream of doing with a car like this.....I purchased privately, unseen. First time I got to have a proper look around it was when it arrived on my drive on the back of a truck. I did my absolute best to get a feel for the car by speaking with the owner, previous garages that had taken care of her, and even a previous owner on here but even so, massive potential for nasty surprises and a very sorry ending................. (Hoping I'm not speaking too soon here :)

The good news is I think I got away with it! My car has been absolutely faultless as far as reliability or any major issues are concerned.

The downside is that despite the lack of any serious or unexpected issues, Somehow I have still managed to spend a small fortune on it!. No regrets at all though. Its a keeper and its already been worth it for the enjoyment I have had out of making this car as best it can be. Lots of smaller jobs are still on the to do list, but it feels like its all coming together now.

Thanks to all for the invaluable info on this site which has really helped. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys when we can get out and about again!

Next issue.... my MOT has now expired so no drive till that is sorted. Next stop, back down to Sports Italia for an underseal and a fresh MOT.

Very nice indeed. Halfords have Free MOT offer on just now. With any purchase. I bought a 1£ air freshener. Good value I think!

Wouldn't let those muppets change a wiper blade, let alone MOT my car.

To be fair I only use them for MOT and my local Halfords MOT garage are as helpful as can be. I've had neither a dodgy MOT fail nor any complaint about their MOT.

Looks awesome, congrats on the purchase. Has it got spacers fitted to the wheels?
Thanks! Yes, I fitted 20mm spacers all round. They are made by SCC, same as the ones in the link below

Fab Car, can I ask about the treatment on the back of the seats, is it an option or accessory, are those wheels polished

Looks absolutely stunning just beautiful to my eyes.
As an ex MOT tester in the UK the tester at Halfords is a different kind of Muppet to the one that fits wiper blades.
VOSA don't give licences out willy nilly so the test should be impartial and a Maserati should be tested the same as a Fiat 500.

Seatbacks are finished in the same colour as the car Not a standard feature or option, although I think It may have been an option on some of the Spyders.
The standard rear seats had started to go sticky so I removed them and stripped back. The prep takes a very long time!! Not a nice job.

Wheels are just back from a company called Lepsons who I have used a couple of times now with excellent results. Alloys have been completely stripped back to bare metal and re finished in what they call black Chrome. Same finish you see on many BMW M cars (called shadow chrome)

Agree, and to be fair on Halfords I have met some very knowledgeable and helpful people, as well as the ones that are there just for the beer tokens on the weekends! Had a full alignment done on a previous car with one of their Hunter aligners. Thankfully the chap operating it knew his stuff! Oh, and their tools are great for the money as well!
