I'm sorry....that is very bad practice and protocol....no intent to hijack your sale at all. Of course anyone wanting a lovely QP should buy this one as I can't see you would find a better one.

Consider my wrists slapped

Dean, you appear to have rather hijacked my sale thread to tell everybody why it might be hard to sell my car at the moment and to suggest alternatives. Not sure why you think that’s helpful?

I'm sure what Dean was trying to say (and all that is left now from his previous posts) is that selling a high-spec lavishly-maintained low-mileage 4.7 QPV for top-dollar is really easy, but selling a industrial-grade grudgingly-(but well)-maintained 4.2 QPV is a nightmare. :)

Ask yourself one question Pete....Apart from the way the GT looks are you getting anything more over RWC13's stunning QP.......To get the equivalent miles on a used GTS you must be looking at another 15k.
I think this particular car looks just as good and somewhat classier than a GTS. And as Andy says, it's a bargain in comparison.

I hope that proves to be correct. We’ll see. I’ve said what I’d like to get for it, but I am also realistic and willing to consider sensible offers. If it doesn’t sell it can stay in it’s centrally heated garage for a while longer.....

Added to which Bordeaux Pontevecchio gets you into a very exclusive club:

Hope it stays in a heated garage until I have the pennies...........Sure it won't thought. Good luck wi the sale of what is the best QP on the market.

I think any QP or Maser is hard at this time. Even a Burgundy one!

Burgundy?
BL**DY BURGUNDY?

You're on a slippery slope young man; before you know it you'll be saying that Dulux Magnolia is cream.

Ye gods, the yoof of today have no respect!

The Italians certain know how to name colours. Some great names for colours. Grigio sounds so much more exotic than grey!

That is crazy arithmentic. My GS at best has done 21mpg on a long run sticking to the speed limits or less. On short 10-20 mile runs it averages around 12-14mpg. The QP for 10,000 miles of mixed driving I do in the E220 will be lucky to see 15mpg overall. To fill the E220 it takes around £65-£70 but it goes 480 - 520 miles on a tank. The GS to fill is around a £100 and it does 300 miles on a full tank before hitting reserve.

I'm not interested in what the difference equates to in terms of sandwiches or cigarettes (I don't smoke anyway). I cannot see me using a QP 4.7 as a daily driver going to Tesco, parking in town, and racking up 10k miles per annum with people dinging the doors, scraping the bumpers etc. This example is just too good to use like that (in my opinion).

You did say the only thing stopping you buying it was fuel , 10,000 isn't that many miles a year, 200 a week , 30 a day.

If I wanted it and could afford to buy the car an extra £30 a week in fuel wouldn't worry me

I averaged 18-19mpg in my 2007 4.2 QPV Exec GT ZF Auto with broad mixed journey types of town, A/B roads and motorways.

It is weird watching some of you guys talk yourself out of buying cars you want. Wish I had that much self-control..........or maybe I don’t.......but my bank manager does

Lol, but what’s the difference in sandwiches, if I had to give up my salmon bap, and eat jam sarnies to run a QP S, I have to say as long as it’s strawberry I’m in....

Just got the two new school fees invoices in to pay for next term immediately after Xmas.

That is my motivation to think too much about buying any car I would like before just going for it. Not sure changing the filling on my lunchtime sandwich will help much with that one!
