My Old Merak

Hi all, a few pics of my old Merak, stripped for restoration. I promised these a few months ago when it came up for sale, restored and looking stunning. Just to show what can be done, albeit not by me unfortunately. I didn't have the time or money at the time, kids were just born.

When I'm 68 [if that remains my retirment age, already raised from 60 by the Gov... bast**ds] I hope to do somthing like this...maybe a 3200 as I think most current classics will be out of my league in another 25 years!

Yes it's restoration was finished around six years ago I believe.

Any idea where it went when it was sold. IIRC the seller was in Falkirk.

I saw the car at an Alfa event in the summer and it was deeply impressive.

You could move to France, retire at 60 and then have the government default on your pension after 15-20 years.

I saw it at the Scottish Itaian Car Show a couple of years ago, but missed the owner. I'm not sure if he actually sold it last year, he was talking about keeping it.

That's the show I saw it at but in 2012. I was surprised how much interest my car created. It's my car, I love it but use it. Sometimes forget how rare they are.

I can't imagine selling cars like that via e-bay would help. I would put it in one of those classic auctions at Sandown Park.
