Small update. Bought some new goodies before christmas, new kickplates, new seat adjustment buttons and the usb/aux cable and plug. Installed the usb and just need to get the aux connected correctly.
The buttons and kickplates were kinda a gift for myself. The scratched buttons and kick plates were annoying me after the polish and repainting the leather seats. So replaced those. But now everything else with a small scratch starts to annoy me. I hope I can remain calm and start buying all other small buttons and stuff.

Also had a service done. Apparantly the inside of the rear mufflers is broken which causes a ugly rattle. So in time I'll be looking to upgrade to other mufflers. Most likely 4.7 or MC ones. Guess it's never a dull story with these cars.
Also, car still drives great. And last weekend had a rally which included some cool photos.

I see you’ve changed the wheels. Your first pictures showed it wearing wheels from a facelift (09+) QP V, and now it’s wearing wheels from an early (pre 09) QP V. Any reason? Have you thought about fitting big Neptune’s, in grey? They’d look great on this car.

These are my winter wheels. Wasn't time enough to change back to summer set before the weekend. After this weekend it will be back on the 19 inch it came on.

Now that's weird. Never liked those original QP wheels on the early QP's but for some reason they look good on your GT....

So update, installed gts exhaust and remote. So now have a full valved setup with xpipe. Im happy i got the remote, since below 3000rpm its way too loud to cruise. Short clip of the sound:
Also bought some other pieces. The center console isnt in that good of shape so im not sure ill put it in. But very happy i found a set of MC paddles for only 30 euros!

Well some time since the last post I installed aluminium pedals, and got the cnc dead pedal ready to install. Got the carbon center console in and added the oem GTS shift levers. The bigger shift levers are a major upgrade.

Also had some troubles, CEL on the cats for the second time. This time more problematic. Brought it to an exhaust shop and they noticed spark plugs needed to be replaced too (apparantly after 35k miles the spark plugs are gone). At the same time i did the major service myself, belts, oil, filters, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid. Power steering fluid was in really good condition, not sure i would replace that again in 4 years of 25k miles.

Had new cats welded in, seemed the easiest and fastest fix. I do need to clean the original pipes though, another corona project!

In couple months she need new tires, hoping that will be last big bill for the forthcoming year. Also have the GTS bigger brakes lying around (got a complete set of rotors, pads, and calipers for all corners for 1200 euro, only 5000 miles on them). I will try to wear down the current brakes as fast as possible :)

Hello ChrissGT,

Nice thread, and a great looking car, more a work of art really.

A couple of points.
You say the Variators have been done twice now? Do you know what was replaced the first time., and how long Km,s between that and the second Vairator repair and what was replaced at that service.

The underneath, post No.26 photo also looks very good, Looks like you have a very sound (get it) and solid car there. Also helps being in NL.

These ownerships updates assists me. So thanks.

Hi Bydand,

From what i can recall the last time they did the variators they shipped out the part to fix the oil check valve thing. So the last time it was the proper fix. Im not sure what is done before because i did not own the car then and the history only mentions variators.
As for a sound car it is both true and falde. I still have a CEL issue with the new cats. Not sure what the problem is, we used a spacer and still the cel persists. Im going to do some MAF cleaning, and then maybe replace all fuel injectors as well. Although the sound with sport cats, x pipe and open mufflers is quite good :)

So in 2 years i had my share of trouble, the cats being the major issues thus far. All other items have been wear and tear. Not suprising but not entirely planned. Must say that doing the major service myself saved a lot of money and was very easy. As was replacing the AC compressor.

Thanks for that.
O2 sensors renewed, and or after markets fitted? Had Bosch ones throw codes on the Audi.
I am sure to hear you before seeing you then.

keep well.
