whats your process to polish? Do you do the whole sandwich bag test, clay etc?
Getting into car detailing is a bit of a curse really...I remember the days when I used to be impressed with the results from some t-cut and turtle Wax applied with an old t-shirt! Ha!

Usually I would snowfoam, jetwash, two bucket wash, light dry down, iron fall out, jetwash, maybe clay (if needed) then dry and then start polishing. Depending on what it's like, I am a little bit lazy (love a result!) So will try and single stage polish. I use a DA and I am pretty happy with the results I manage to achieve. Once it's done then wax, or paint sealant. I bought some ceramic but I wimped out as thought I should try my first go on a car which I wasn't so bothered about (like the wife's !!). I did ceramic coat the glass and first impressions are good!

Hi All! Alongside my update in my wanted post, thought I should officially introduce myself as a new owner :)
I've finally found and bought a 2010 MC Shift and to say I'm happy is an understatement. First impressions of owning (two days in) are amazing. I'm based in Guildford in case there are any others locally?

I can't praise ceramic coating high enough, I used to own a Jag XKR and was forever polishing, clay barring, getting rid of tree sap, etc etc etc. Basically untold hours, after I'd sold the Jag a mate got his Porker ceramic coated, he jet washes it with a quick wax afterwards and bingo, I felt a right muppet looking back at the wasted time, naturally when I got my GT the first place it went to was the ceramic coaters who had it a week, machine polished out the swirls and duly coated it, looks great and will take less than the whole weekend to look minty.

Couldn't agree with you more, there's more to life than polishing a car..so I'm told. Anyway, mine's booked in for a full valet and ceramic in March.

Probably because I have the time here but I actually enjoy hand washing and polishing a car and it's good aerobic exercise too.
I certainly couldn't be wasting my time exercising in the traditional way.
Works for me :)
