Good evening all,

Currently awaiting the arrival of a 4200 GT facelift with a manual transmission. Looking forward to taking it for a drive tomorrow. It's travelling down from the Scottish Borders to West Sussex. :D

Welcome along.
Surprised no one has mentioned the yellow callipers which do look nice with black.

Welcome to the wonderful and occasionally crazy world of Maserati ownership. I'm in West Sussex too so maybe will see you on the road sometime soon.

Welcome along! As FIFTY has said, nice to have another manual join us. We are in a bit of a minority on here!! This one slipped through the net as I didn't see it advertised on any sites........Well done! I hope that's the only time you get to see it on the back of a recovery truck! ;)

Hi, after a lot of searching I found some reference to it here > https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/maserati-4200-gt-manual-facelift-for-sale.33456/ when it was advertised for sale in May 21. The purchaser of the car only had it around 7 months for a few trips in the summer and was then put in for winter storage. He has too many pre-war projects he wants to invest his time in so has let it go. It was up for sale in November 21 on Car&Classics for a few days and I made some enquiries then, but was gutted to find it was no longer available. Then out of the blue got an email the other week advising it was available again as it had been reserved for a family member, but in the end they wanted a more practical car.

It has a completely clean and consistent MOT and service history, with relatively low miles at only 37,000. I'm hoping it's as good as I have been led to believe. Due to the distance I haven't seen it in person, just photos and a few walk around videos. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice. I should find out shortly if it was a good bet :D Oh and it has the Larini exhaust system, which I'm told is quite loud o_O.

Sounds like a long wait for the right car. Took me 18 months to find mine and kissed a couple of frogs on the way from all quarters of the UK!!
Brave move buying unseen........Let's hope you don't have to change your name to 'Mr Spoons 2'!!
I'm sure you will be fine with FSH. Sounds well looked after.
Your thoughts and pics when it lands!

Well it's arrived :shy1:.... Taken it for a spin and it hasn't disappointed. Visceral engaging place to be. Nearest thing I have driven to this is probably my old 11 plate 3.6 Boxster black edition, but that had a PDK transmission. Worlds apart from the BMW M3 F80 DCT I had in terms of fun. That was squirt and go with a very tail happy back end, but became a very boring drive after a while. The GT with the Larini is even louder than the M Performance exhaust I had on M3 and that was loud. However the sound is infinitely better, the M3 did not have a pleasant exhaust note, most M3 F80 owners would attest to that.

Bodywork wise, I would give it a 9 out of 10, a few light scratches, but nothing my rotary polisher can't handle. Interior is in good order and all the button switches appear intact and haven't lost their print.

Think I won this bet :D
