New problems on the GS

Some additional problems on the GS.

I have replaced the 2 rear coilsprings, standard GS swap and no adjustments have been made to the height. I now have a permanent suspension light on the dash and the rear pax side looks to be sitting higher than driver side. I haven't been able to take it for a drive yet so it may need to settle.

The front passenger caliper metal pipe has snapped and I cannot see a replacement at eurospares, does anyone know the code for this or where I can source one?

Thanks

I had a shock absorber that would get stuck, and after a while would suddenly re-set itself, regarding metal brake pipes, a lot of them are no longer available, you have to make your own, or get them made.

Are you talking about the pipe from the flexi to the caliper? This can be made using universal pipe and fittings.

Regarding the ride height, are you happy that the replacement spring was the same unloaded length as the old one?

Oh, the suspension light could well be a connection to the skyhook shock, I would check those connections.

Might just be stuck and when I drive it with a load on it hopefully it will reset the height

Yes flexi pipe to caliper, will have to find a place to make them up by looks of it. Checked the height of the springs before install as replaced both the rears at the same time, were identical. Only the pax rear is sitting higher at the moment.

I'll recheck the electrical connectors again for the suspension warning.

They are a pain in the chops, but they are easy to do yourself or someone local will make one for you.

Can you get a universal kit or something and make them to shape?

Yes. Google brake pipe kit. Just measure the diameter of the pipe to make sure you get the right size. The original is steel, so if you want it
to look similar but the cupro-nickel pipe.

I would think you need to give Mike a call at maserati Shed Bud, its likely he will have the answers to your suspension issues and may even know where to get the pipe in question thats obsolete or at least know if there is any thats done a post production part.

Here is a link i hope you get it sorted:

There is an art to getting the flange end right. Buy a quality tool or have them made and bend to shape yourself.

All this talk of flange ends, rear well alignment, twirking, diameter of pipes and quality tools. I guess it must be didn't get it Sunday.

I have a Pirtek local to me so going to see if they can whip me up some replacements for both sides as if one was so bad it snapped the other will be best to replace before flushing and bleeding the system.

Any tips on bleeding the brake system?

Put a bit of cling film over the master cylinder reservoir to help stop it all draining out so you just have to bleed the front circuit.

Do not allow the reservoir to empty whatever you do! Don't ask me how I know

I fear it may already be empty as I couldn't stop the leak when the pipe snapped!

Cost me 7 litres of fluid at £15 a pop and a lot of time using a pressurised bleeder. Hope you don't not have in your abs valves.

Hopefully it will be fine once I replace the pipes and refill/bleed it!

Update,

Brakes bleed without any ABS issues thank god! Used the pressure bleed system was great!

I have checked and cleaned all of the electrical connectors on the suspension, ride height is now correct all round and sport mode function seems to work ok.

I still however ave the suspension light on the dash, my basic OBD reset tool doesn't have anything recorded for it.

Any ideas on how to remove it or reset?

Thanks
