Wow what a story.
Having been lucky to have had a couple of 4200 cambio corsa and a couple of Ferrari I can feel the excitement.

Great advice from all, I would echo all of the above contributions. You will love the 4200 Coupe or Spyder. They are an astonishingly capable car. You get so much flair and charisma for the money. Maserati's history is up there with the best of the best.
The performance is just bonkers and the sound of that Quad cam V8 will give you goosebumps, it really will have you giggling like a kid! 177mph is no slouch and as a package it's no joke.

As mentioned before the V8 is pretty bullet proof when maintenance is kept on top of. If you find a manual 3 pedal car and the stick feels notchy, don't be put off as they are usually in need of an adjustment on the cable gear linkage. Otherwise Cambio Corsa's are as advised above. A recent reading will inform you of clutch wear.

Check the Skyhook suspension, make sure this is fully functioning and look/watch out for broken springs. Invest in a new battery and a trickle charger as when the battery is low it can trigger dash lights, air-bag lights and passenger air-bag lights. The dash board will light up like a christmas tree when in-fact you actually have no legitimate faults.

Maserati from the outset conceived it as a daily driver and it genuinely was/is exactly that...A capable, useable car that's just that little bit different to others in the segment. The more you drive them the more they make sense and the cabin is a wonderful, exciting place to be on a cruise or on a spirited drive. It's a car that gets you involved, not perfect by any means but none the less a great package for the money. Some times you'll get days when its a handful or when they have a hissy fit and generally being a right headache and pain......But this is all fixable and do-able!

Then when you turn the key, when you listen to that sonorous voice, feel the way that V8 delivers the torque and power, then all that stuff just fades away and you're smitten by it again............

There are plenty of Indie's and specialists out there that can help, so you won't be left out in the cold when/if anything decides to go out to lunch.. It's a learning curve, the more you get involved with it the more you'll find workarounds. The more you get under its skin and learn the more you'll benefit... This forum is a wealth of knowledge with some really helpful members, so you've already made a great head start.

A stunning bit of kit from an amazing manufacturer, I think you will love it and you won't be disappointed. MAGNIFICO MASERATI!!!!
