Hi Wardlem and welcome to the 'Madhouse'

That is a lovely car you have there, we are all dead jealous, really.

Would be interested to hear what you think of her, cant say we have had any negatives with the 4.7 other than the side repeaters falling out.

Where you based?

thanks for the welcome all

I have to confess, I didnt bother to test drive it or tell the GF before I ordered it lol !

Ive done 100 miles so far and used just over a quarter of a tank of fuel !?!?! sounds awesome with sport mode on and the roof off.

no negatives really, boot is tiny obviously, the stereo/multimedia isnt particularly intuitive and my iphone dosent seem to work with the ipod attachment - obviously i havent bothered to read the manual !

GF is trying to get used to driving an automatic as shes never driven one before............not sure it was a great car for her to learn on lol

I know i would not need to test drive a Granturismo S as for a few reasons.

1. you know it will be a good car.
2. the quality is very good.
3. exclusivity
4. the noise.

Surely a Maserati man/owner only needs to carry everything he needs in a wallet...........;)....no need for a boot......

You let you GF drive your mistress....dangerous stuff that.....;)....;)

Pretty new model.......most of the owners on here have older models, trying our best to keep them on the road and reduce the running costs!

You have a 3 yr warranty to cushion your ownership!

South London is Ok........:)

well my entire car owning history goes:

1. Renault 5 bought new (from age 17 to 25ish)
2. BMW 5 series (yes bit of a jump from a renault 5, bought after watching the car chase in Ronin) - bought second hand, had for a year or 2
3. Mini cooper - original, got bored with the Beemer (bought after watching Italian job), bought second hand, had for a year or 2
3. Lotus Elise S2 - had for last 9 years, bought new, had 13k on the clock when I sold it a month ago - yes i didnt drive it much. Had a new Audi A3 at the same time as the shed (probably did a few thousand miles in the 3 years I had it)
4. Maserati Gran Cabrio - arrived beginning of Sept (I note the GT features in the film Limitless which I watched before I decided on the car).

was a toss up in the end between the GC, a DB9 and a gallardo. went for GC as its less bling than the gallardo and was the same price as a second hand DB9 I was looking at (but the DB9 wasnt a convertible).

I was getting to old to be getting in and out of the Elise (38 now !) hence the reason for the swap. plus I never drove the elise as I had to keep the battery constantly on charge so you could never just get in and drive it, it was a complete faff.

I dont care about the warranty or the maintenance/servicing costs, my employer takes care of all that - its my company car ! (i would never drive it to a clients though)

Hi Wardlem!
Glad to see you've popped in :)

Andy K who posted above is an ex-SELOCer and Lotus nut so you're in good company.
If you're London based maybe you'll be able to do the Christmas meet at the Ace, will be good to have some GT company.

Regards,
Dan (aka Dogfeet, SELOC)
