FYI the wet sump 4.2/4.7 all do not run this combined pump in case some were panicking
Thanks! "some" are not panicking, while others have just started.
Can't really complain. about the. design of F136 engine I suppose. The rest of it is ding dong.

My plan is to strip the old water pump down and hopefully identify the bearings and seals etc. in the hope that they can replaced as a maintenance item, before the seal goes and corrodes the shaft.
As for the shaft and splines, once it’s out I'm going to try and get an engineering firm down the road to make one. Although for others, if the seals and bearing are replaced before the problem starts then they shouldn’t need a replacement?

Reference the F430 oil/water pump (part number 217628), these are still being made by the factory and although on back order until October I’ve been told there is no problem getting them.
Whether the water pump from this could be used on the 4200, I still don’t know. Safrane mentioned Voicey, I’ve never dealt with them so maybe it’s a bit cheeky taking up his time asking questions about it?
Or maybe this is the justification needed to add a 430 to the garage :D

Any tips on locking the crank to get the crank pulley bolt loose? Is there a way of locking the flywheel?
Could use an impact wrench, but that would need the rads out for access and I don’t really want to be stripping them out as well!!!

I have seen a rebuild kit for these advertised somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where, it definitely was seals, and bearings I think.

As I wrote in my 1st intro post, when I bought my Spyder, my intention was (is) to keep it forever. With that in mind, I have been stocking up on spares when I can find a good deal. I have numerous gasket sets, a set of motor mounts, one new, one used wheel bearing, a set of used injectors/ rails, a brand new Briarwood shift knob, used brake calipers, and a new water/oil pump. Beyond control arms, Skyhook shocks, and rotors, are there any other parts we 4200 lovers should be concerned about?

Matt82, a few questions please
What's the mileage on the car?
Is it driven regularly, or does it sit for long periods?
Has the coolant been changed regularly? (Every 5 years with long life coolant.)

If anyone needs me to, I will be happy to measure the input shaft splines on my new pump.
