Not what I had in mind when I went to get my X pipe fitted .

Morning Guys .
So , my 2002 4200 Spyder Gt , manual version , has always had a bit of clutch squeal , I knew this when I bought her .
I mentioned it on this great forum and was advised to just get out there and drive it , which I did and the noise went away , all was rosy in the Maserati garden and I was a happy bunny .
After a few months and lots of research I decided that a little more noise was needed and purchased an X pipe to help her breathe a bit more easily .
Today was the day that she was booked in for her procedure , it was raining , of course , but that didn’t matter , not today , I jumped in and fired up the beast , as I pressed the clutch pedal the squeal came back with a vengeance , never mind I thought , it will go away , it usually does . I got to the end of my street , dipped the clutch and found to my horror that the gearbox was locked solid , I persevered for a while but it wouldn’t go back into gear , I switched her off and re started her , this time first gear engaged but she was wailing like a banshee , foot off the clutch all was quiet . Now when I pressed the clutch it was like applying the brakes , but at least we were mobile , I drove round to the garage where she was booked in and dumped the keys on the counter , the mechanic looked at my Spyder , still shrouded in a cloud of clutch smoke , then looked at me and said , exhaust ? I replied , ah , well , I think it might be a little more than that now , please be gentle , and I left .
That was about half an hour ago , I am now waiting for the mechanic ( luckily my best pal ) to get back to me .3AF1CD57-A8E2-401F-A21D-8AF4694941BF.jpeg
