I'll always remember and admire that he kept working as a porter on the night shift at LGI even when he had more money than he could spend.

Mad as a box of frogs, but a good guy and a bit of an English Icon to boot. Rest in Peace and don't stop being a fine disreputable Yorkshireman wherever you are....

Rest in piece.....Jim'll fix it.....Brilliant...I wrote in more than once...Saw a profile on him once though and it did not shed him in good light outside his work with charity.

Even though he wasn't my cup of tea either, I reckon I can forgive him a few human frailties for his epic charity work. He did a lot more good than harm, so, well done Sir Jim and thanks.

Yes wrote in a few times myself to Jim, I wish I could remember what for.

I remember seeing the Lois Theroux program on him some years back and you are right, he was mental and I always was of the opinion that a Gary Glitter type story could break about him some day.

But his charity work benefited millions and I am sure he really did have kids best interests at heart, so hats off to you JS may you RIP
