How about A1 on a 2007 Mini Cooper.

or MAZ42 on a Peugot 307, MAZ4200 on a Renault Megane (anyone here?)

The MyCarCheck app means you can play this game all day...........albeit on line rather than in the flesh

SN 1 on a 1988 Renault Espace in Holywell!

5K on a Beemer in Chester

It always amuses me, sell the Espace and the plate and buy a 458!

There is a clapped out old builders van near us that has VAN 1 on it, must be worth more than the entire building company!

Once saw a black BMW full of "African" types. The number plate was FUP 16S. They had it altered to read FU PIGS. Couldn't believe the stupidity. I wonder to this day how many miles to the "pull" they were getting.

When I bought my Ducati Diavel, I hunted about for a suitable number plate and found D14VEL on a builders van but had no way to get in contact to see if he would sell it.

This'll take some beating. A gem of a plate IMO.

Woody that's a cracking plate. I too don't understand why some of these special numbers worth a lot of money, are on such mundane vehicles, it's crazy.
Not quite the same, but today I saw a white soft top Maser, I think it was a Victory, not sure, with MY11 MAS.

My father owns an eight year old wreck of a Lexus is200. His number plate is two letters followed by a single number. He turned down a written offer of £23,000 for it last Tuesday. He bought it in the seventies for £350.

If he plans to keep it and move it on to another car shortly, then good luck to him, but he could put that money towards a really nice set of wheels for himself, or is he leaving it to you?

My Dad has a ##*** on his which he too has had for donkeys years. Its probably only worth a couple of k, but its more sentimental value than relevance. Whats nice is he had it on cars long before it became the in thing. DVLA have devalued some good 'uns though.

Elliot, are the letters relevant to your Dad?

Robert, he has no interest whatsoever in cars. As far as he is concerned, it starts when he wants it to, gets him where he wants to go and he knows what most of the buttons do. So, he's happy. Yes Woody, they're his initials. He was sorely tempted by the latest offer. But, bless him, the money would just sit in the bank. So, he's keeping it.

The 2 BE and NOT 2B are great plates...I used to cycle past them on my way to work when I was in London. Cracking pair.

Saw " AP7" on about £3000 worth of freelander in Salcombe earlier this year. My all time favourite was a guy who lived near an old mate of mine in Walton-on Thames. His plate, which was on a 911 Turbo, Testarossa, F40, was "5 HED", or, "SHED". Priceless.

Every time I go to the Qatar Embassy on South Audley Street there is a sight to behold super car wise. There is an underground garage there said to contain millions and millions of squids worth in cars and number plates. Worth an hour out of your busy day just drooling !
