Sign of the times fellas....
"With millions of euros in debts and an inability to pay back its loans, the operator of Germany's fabled Nürburgring racetrack, home to many of the country's Formula One races, could declare bankruptcy next week. It may be the end of the legendary racecourse, which first opened in 1927"
Not good.

Recent years have seen stupid & overpriced developments appearing on the complex, aimed to price out the true enthusiast & turn up & go petrol head!

How was that going to work then?

The whole thing, the last I heard. New age chancers were given a free run and they killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Greed and stupidity screws it for the rest of us.

It would be strange if they closed it all and left it deserted. Someone would always buy it I'm sure.

They tried to make it into a theme park......expensive hotels etc......it was never going to work as it's a track and as such a limited audience.......Saw a film about it last year and the writing was on the the wall then..........empty hotel and shops.......Sad if it goes....

Sounds like they completely misjudged the target market, borrowed too much (€330m!) to build unwanted glitz and now can't pay it back. Shame, not least of all for the true enthusiasts who just want to drive it, not stay at some fancy hotel and eat gourmet food.
