Most of the racing did not interest me much but the Birdcage and Classic Touring Cars were mega.

Yes Dem.....The Exige was a road going track car...Very hardcore.........No sound deadening, high tuned engine and track tyres...It was brilliant and I used mine everyday.....Love it, but it was not ideal as an every day car....If it wasn't warmed up properly it was stuttered and jump if you put your foot down so you had to learn how to drive it....We went to the Lotus factory in Norfolk in it and Liz had to wear ear plugs as it was so loud.....

Anyway I know I've posted these many time but any excuse to put them up again...

Thanks for the photo's Adam. Always nice to see a Birdcage (that's the Jon Minshaw Birdcage I think?) doing what it was built to do, but I have to say I do have a hankering for the Lotus Cortina's and Anglia's. Only in the UK could cars as butt ugly as those become iconic. :D

Lotus Cortina's are worth around 40-50k now Miles, i bet ex racing cars are worth even more, i know what you mean, quite ugly but i sort of hanker for one, same will the hillman imp.
