I think it's better proportioned than the Zonda but the Zonda will always be an icon. Not sure I like turbos on a car like this either...

I agree with the proportions Lewis...Its a better looking car for me than the Zonda as well.......It was always the back of the Zonda that didn't gell so well for me....Thats not to say I don't like it as its one of the best Supercars to come out over the last 10 years......I don't really like the last special Zondas that have been made as they got a bit cartoonish and over the top....Give me a standard car.

But back to the one above...Love it.....wouldn't have it over a Lambo Aventador though..

I cant get over the price of this, £ 1 Million, o.k Pagani made the Cinque and Zonda R and they were both over a million but for what this costs you could have a new Aventador and a Zonda F.

That's interesting...

Hyper cars are not really my thing but I've got to say it seems (in my eyes) a lot more mature a shape than the classic Zonda profile.

Funny how it doesn't even sound like it's awake- never a shriek or a roar so to speak; not really stressed in those conditions. Is that an MC12 in the pitlane ahead of it (seen from behind) at 1:03...?

Here's a controversial question for you; can you really take a manufacturer seriously as a marque in it's own right if it doesn't make it's own engines...?

Interesting question. I'm a watch collector as well as a car enthusiast and I buy watches for one of two reasons, rarely both - either design and engineering, or for the quailty of their movements. Sometimes you get both, but it's rare without spending the earth. I think cars are the same, with Pagani falling into the design and engineering category (with a bought in 'movement' and Ferrari these days are all about the quailty of their 'movements' i.e. engines/suspension/brakes. They certainly aren't pretty anymore! Lambo for me fall into the 'both' category, an amazing in-house V12 with an amazingly beautiful body that drives superbly. I will pay a lot of money for the right 'design exercise' piece though, as even though they didn't make the movement, I know it is of great quailty from the manufacture who did.

Adam, cost and value for money is irrelevant for a car like this, they will mostly be owned by Chinese billionaires and driven slowly/parked badly around Shanghai city centre. Us Maser/Fezza/Aston/Alfa owners have to think about what everything costs and whether we can afford to do it, these will just be another hypercar in a collection, rolled out to impress in a game of one-upmanship. Hopefully a few will get into the right hands and we'll see them out and about :)

a few will come to the u.k, there is a few Zonda's in the u.k so i do not see why the new Pagani will not come here. For £1Million though surely you would buy an MC12 instead or Mclaren F1.

Thing with a £1M car is that you don't decide which one to have as you already have the other two if you want them, you just buy this as well. Money is no object, if you even have to consider whether you can afford it, you can't afford it. This isn't like a 458/Gallardo that you can get finance on if you make £80k/yr.

That's why I said 'mostly', sure they'll be a few of them everywhere but this car at this price is for the Chinese market. But there are wealthy people everywhere!

Hope I get to see one at some point, I have a friend who was trying to persuade Horatio Pagani to make a V8 version of the Zonda. He doesn't like V12s so wouldn't buy one, but a Zonda was 1/3 the price. This is out of his league and he's pretty well off...

Peter Saywell had a v6 Zonda made i think with twin turbos.

Didn't know you knew him - he has a lot of stuff, just buys whatever he pleases. I also use his pass to go to the Aero Club at Goodwood on Revival days :) He turned up to a mate's BBQ with a new 458 when they hadn't even been released!

Who knew there was so much money in scrapping aeroplanes...

Nice to see it being spent wisely!

They had a yellow Carrera GT in EVO long term.....It just didn't suit it....Think it was black or grey at first and he painted it yellow...Terrible thing to do to a 300k car.....Or what every it cost.

He has owned some amazing cars, had a Yellow Carrera GT at one point, currently on his 3rd Koenigsegg.

I go touring in France every 2yrs (Classic Le Mans) with a guy who bought one of Peter's old Koenigseggs (I shan't name him)... he re-mortgaged his house and sold his entire car collection to buy it, and is now too scared to drive it! He rolls in an old 90s Jag saloon instead! Takes all sorts...
