I have a similar thing on the Elise.
Half front, so it covers to just above the headlights, and the middle portion in front of the front bonnet, and the front bonnet itself, mirrors and both sills.
It's been on there for 7+ years now and only has a couple of chips, hasn't faded or anything either, though some of the tighter curve edges have peels slightly. This doesn't bother me as they are basically under the car.
Some of the bits under the nose have shredded slightly too where the front has bottomed out..
It cost me around £700 at the time, but the car had just been fully resprayed.
Personally, i'd do it again on a car that has a custom paint job, or difficult to match colour, or large surface area (the Elise having clams means a front end respray is either a blend in job, or a paint half the car job).
The Elise is very low, and prone to chips all across the front.
I wouldn't bother on a car that wasn't freshly painted as any marks below the film would stand out imo, and of course the balance of paint cost to film cost has to come into it.
