Back in the day you could have collected all sorts of bits and pieces from the British Forest's when the RAC Rally was on.

who would of thought years later bits of bodywork could worth a fair bit, must admit i was quite tempted at sub 2k when first listed, it's a great piece of motorsport history from the the 1985 lombard rally and such a famous/talented driver that sadly lost his life in a horrific accident

Totally agree and would love to adorn my workshop with pieces like that.
Wished I had kept all my Rally plates from 30 years of events done but moved house too many times and they could still be on the inside of Garage doors around the UK.

Went from 6.5 K to final price in the last few seconds.

i'm not entirely surprised, it's either a non payer waster and it'll be relisted soon or a genuine collector that's won it, if i were the owner of a genuine ex works S4 then 10k would be a realistic figure to pay, as you know it's really what and who this piece represents, hopefully it has gone to a collector
