I nearly bought a Alpina D5 F11 touring a few months ago but it was 30k and i had a remapped 530d F11 at the time. I procrastinated for a day and it sold. They imported 9 of them so getting another good one may take a while....

Bought an Audi Q3 but really i know it’s a stop gap as i decided this mad year has dropped our mileage so might as well hunker down and wait until we really need another high value car when we have the Macan as well already.

They also brought in B5 version which is the 4.4 v8 but there are very few around. I saw one touring and it was £32k which is mad as it’s held so much value.

Just don’t search new ones as you’ll need 100k for one and they are so so so nice!

Visited Sytner Nottingham on Christmas Eve for a test drive of the dark blue D5 Biturbo with 40k miles

Struck a deal, left a deposit, it will be ready in a couple of weeks after the appropriate prep work incliduding adding a full set of Alpina decals which my wife insisted on believe it or not

I fell in love with it instantly on the test drive, it's not like any other BMW - or anything else I have driven. It feels very special and I enjoyed every moment in the car. @Gazcw you are right about it not feeling like a diesel the "roll on performance" is very responsive plus with the LSD it's agile in the corners making the big 5er feel smaller than it is - plus it gets out of junctions quickly with ease - no "one tyre fire" rubbish

Thanks again to @outrun for the suggestion I didn't even think for a moment that I could have an Alpina as a daily

Congratulations! You will love that car ...

I had a 5 series between my GT and Ghibli, and I can honestly say it was tremendous. Wife loved it as the ride was so smooth she could apply her make-up between traffic lights too!

There is a chap near me with the tricked up model X .. drives it like he is carrying open glasses full of water on the dashboard.. same chap has a very nice looking wide bodied 993 but drives that like he stole it... tick for range anxiety

How many times do you see a Tesla in the inside lane at 55-60 slip streaming a truck? Always makes me laugh.

I think Porsche have dramatically improved the looks of both the Panamera and Cayman. I like em both nowadays.

I do Mark.....The latest Panamera and the Turismo is a good looking car these days....

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me, it is certainly not a looker, although better than the orignal. Good car I expect though.

Agree not to everyone's taste and the original was a pig to look at but I think the new shows it didn't need much of an update to make it look much better. There is a crayon grey Panamera one that goes buy me everyday on the motorway and it certainly has presence. I also love the new Porsche interiors as well lovely place to be everyday and I think that's what Porsche do so well that everyday usable sports car.

I’ve always liked the panamera probably because it’s different to anything else out there. Not so sure about the ST one though. Build quality is up there as one of the best.
