Post Office Victims

So nice to hear that the Post Office workers wrongly accused for fraud and false accounting have had their convictions quashed.! Let’s hope the Post Office management at the time and the software providers are held accountable for allowing this to happen for many years knowingly !.!

I worked on the replacement for Horizon (called Gravity) but the Post Office canned it and stayed with Horizon.

Ours was based on Sterling Commerce so would have worked properly! I remember that time, my missus had just passed her driving test, and had to travel and drive in Germany, and I had to go too cos she shaat herself. She drove, I Worked from Car!

A family friend of Mrs1963s family was wrongly convicted and ended up going bankrupt. They were lucky in some respects and managed to pull themselves around and for many years have owned a successful cleaning business. Many weren’t so lucky.

Absolutely appalling. Quite a few have died and/or gone to prison with this hanging over their heads. I can't believe the misery these people must have suffered over the last 16 years. Most were from very small communities and were vilified by their fellow villagers at the time. Their whole lives have gone down the toilet. Financial compensation can never recompense the pain these people have had to endure .

Horizon was introduced into the Post Office network from 1999. The system, developed by the Japanese company Fujitsu FUJITSU
So many reports mention horizon, why not say horizon by FUJITSU. Name and shame the company who INSISTED there was nothing wrong with it. Heads in that company should also roll as well as Post Office people who continued prosecuting even when problems with the software came to light.

How this got so far without anyone realising something was fundamentally wrong is beyond me. At least they have won the case but too little too late and you can't rebuild lives that were impacted easily
