I dont doubt any of these replies as my experience is basedon one Maserati only - the GranSport. I dont have neck-jerking shifts with its Cambio Corsa robotised manual gearbox, albeit with a single clutch. Thats in either Sports or normal manual mode. I guess it has something to do with having it setup correctly in the first place.

Or incorrectly ;) . Seriously it should give you a good punch in the back if you push it

Guy where I store mine has x4 911, not sure on models, one is a very nice Orange Carrera something or another. Great guy, came over when I was washing my car, praised it, and then asked me to teach him how to wash a car properly.

In clean, unmodified state, a MK1 GT3 is a great car. I owned a MK1 GT3 CS (M003) and had about 17k trouble free miles. I shouldn't have sold it, but I was approached via a forum and a deal was done.

I'd consider going back to one, but really lovely examples aren't too plentiful. It's true that values have softened a fair bit, but longer term I think any Mezger engine cars with manual transmission are good news. Much better value than the air-cooled cars (and I say that, having owned and enjoyed 964 and 993).

That's why I have held on to my Mezger manual X50 Turbo. Beautiful car and setup. Point and shoot missile see off almost anything under £120k. The air-cooled cars have a cult following but they are old cars now.

Dunno. The 911 Turbo I had a couple of years back was virtually seamless. Quite dull, really

That comes as a surprise. My Turbo is ballistic fast. The GS is not slow, but against the Turbo its slow - cant compare a normally aspirated V8 with forced induction twin turbo. I like both my cars for different reasons.

No, you misunderstand. It was light speed fast. But the gear shifts were basically not there because of the PDK. On my CC box you (should) get a good punch in the back as the cogs shift IMHO

I agree, 2 to 3 ,3 to 4 at high revs certainly stretches my arms. Maybe not savage like a Porsche turbo tho.

The absence of neck snapping shifts in CC car is a complement. The guys I hang around with that have Porsche PDK (dopplkupling) claim the single plate card break necks with a flick of the paddle whereas the PDK shifts are imperceptible. The Porsche Boxster PDK i have as a courtesy car from Porsche Chester confirns this. In standard mode the shifts are silky smooth and chsnges like an auto without tge lag of a torque converter auto. Put it into Sport mode and shift manually on the paddles and the car is transformed.
