Yes, I think it's worth it.

If you have a garage, space, time, kit and inclination, then sure, it can be very satisfying to detail your own car, but I tired of it years ago.

I had my QP cleaned in Wakey, they are good guys, assorted weird non-EU European countries but I pay 'em double (£10!) and they do a great job, got to Dublin, passenger door covered in bird shìt. Albanians most, I always do my Liam Neeson 'Taken' speech on them so they can say 'Good luck' after...

So the way of the world is no matter how much you pay sooner rather than later a seagull will plop on it.

So what do you do when a bird shiits on your windscreen? Get rid of her?

I can recommend ceramic coating, mine was done 2 or 3 years ago by the previous owner and after being stood in a dusty field, washing the car consists of a gentle hose down and lambswool mitt, then dry. Takes about 30 minutes and it's back to concourse.

It is getting ceramic coated. And I agree with Wanderer, I normally do it all my self. And for reference I soak birdsh!t in red hot wet kitchen towel to remove.

This.

Mine's been done by F1 Wax with carbon ceramic stuff in some places and Gtechniq in others (he knows why, I don't!), and it's a breeze to wash. It also gets dirty more slowly. It generally gets a squirt of quick detailing sprat after as well, which helps keep it looking peachy. The PFF'd front end helps, too.

Professional definitely worth it, a machine polish, Clay etx etx brings the paint up lovely.

I like to do they every year or so if I get chance and then have a good routine yourself and you notice the difference.

Ceramic coatings the way to go for me personally, then a top up with the likes of gtechniq C2V3 which is brilliant stuff and a fiddle to do

GTechniq ceramic coating - no regrets 2 yrs on. Makes maintenance of an excellent paintwork much easier. Reep recommended.

Hope so - mine is currently having a full correction detail, a GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra ceramic coating, and then 2 coats of EXO V4...
Think so, I’ll revert back with some pics when I pick mine up tomo.
Think I’ll be ordering front Larini’s soon too.
