QP/GT front subframes - the truth

Hello Chaps,
The cost of the headlining repair was quoted as £120, which seemed reasonable to me...
And now I can reveal (drumroll....) The deal is done!!! After a bit of negotiation, we reached a mutually agreeable figure and ( very shortly) and the 2009 Maserati Granturismo will be joining the household. Now, the fun part of tweaking it begins...exactly what I said I wouldn't do!! But an x pipe and sports cats are looking mighty good to me, maybe the naviplus screen upgrade for the infotainment system, some spacers to fill the arches a touch better and the FD drive by wire box . But I'll start with Stindig's rather natty alloy dead pedal and ( when they're done) a set of the seat levers. Oh, yes- can anyone recommend : 1 a child's seat and 2 a Detailer ( preferably in the South west)?
Cheerio!

Great work. You can plan your first forum outing to Ace Cafe on the 11th now. ;)

Congratulations! Well done. Don’t forget the Stindig flappy paddles too!
X-pipe is a great upgrade. It’s a slippery slope though... you’ll be looking at refurbished steering wheel before you know it, the forum Apple Car Play upgrade, carbon bits, uprated brakes, braided brake lines and I could go on..

Congratulations!
Before all the bells and whistles, get booked in to have the bushes fixed. This will also give you time drive it in "OEM condition" before deciding what to upgrade. They did a pretty good job back at the factory ;)

New bushes and an Ash alignment will certainly get it cornering well.

Thanks again for all the responses; I've pinged BDM with regard to the child seat. The bushes are absolutely the first job to be done, but what is an 'ash' alignment? I would welcome opinions on the aucar and naviplus upgrades to the infotainment screen ( I'm leaning towards the naviplus system, 'cause it retains the CD player ( oh god, I'm old!!!!)
Braided brake lines are already on the way with Stigdin's alloy dead pedal. Waiting on the PayPal invoice for urutu auto's silicone air intake and carbonfibre sound. Enquiry in to Larini exhausts regarding waiting time for sport cats. And a carcoon to baby the Granturismo until I build the extra garage. Should I mention the laser elite ja, er, I mean parking sensor? No? Oh good thing I didnt, then! I do rather like Bebs' steering wheel, though.
Really what IS an Ash alignment?!!?

Probably worth starting your own newbie thread now, rather than putting all this in the subframe warning :)

Whoops! Sorry, Sep and folks for perverting this thread! I really should have known better- afraid I rather got carried away with the whole "I'VEGOTAMASERATIGRANTURISMO!!!" situation. Going to start a new thread, then lie down in a darkened room kept cool by the £ 50 notes flying out of my wallet!

Don't forget the need for Zeps big brake kit. A must if you like the front end as it is.....

I have just seen some more pictures of 3 year old JLR Velar subframes. It is a disgrace, even worse than the F-Types. Not just Maserati.

Thanks for reminder, I will get this fully checked, and remedied if needed, once she is out of storage in spring......fingers crossed.
