Hi new to all this and have just purchased the above car. As stated in my other posts the passenger wing mirror will not fold butthe drivers one does? The paint underneath looks corroded so im thinking its an electrical problem through wet getting in? Can anyone point this newbie in the right direction of how to replace the wing mirror From a complete idiot pov? Do i have to buy a full wing mirror or can i just get the wiring? As always any help is much appreciated thanks

All the pre facelift QPs mirror "stalks" suffer from corrosion. Something to do with the alloy I think. Had mine redone.

Sorry can't help you there. Plenty more knowedgeable on here though. If it's not working, I expect it'll need disassembling to find out why. You could get the corrosion sorted at the same time...

Brilliant thanks ever so much
do i just spray wd40 all over the bottom of the housing?

I would try it in the gap between the part that rotates and the mounting. If it doesn’t work the you will have to go with what Eb has said.

In addition to the mirrors, I had a front end resprayed. The clear coat was flaking on the bonnet and around the front wheel arches, lots of stone chips on the front, bumper and bonnet, and the usual rash on the sills, especially in front of the rear wheels as the rear of the car is wider than the front. Wheels also refurbished.

Sides, top, boot and back were OK so didn't need doing.

Depends how much you want to splurge? It's certainly not an investment in the monetary sense! But looked lovely afterwards!
