CAP clean is about £12.5k on that car. Any big engined car has taken a hit and the older it is and the more doors it has makes it worse.

Looks great to me, cheap car that is, along with that 4.2 GTS on the other thread.
Quick check on the MOT history looks fine, no issues. Seems as though the owner is doing quite a few miles, like he says in the ad. About 14k/year, which is quite a lot to do fuel wise in a QP! I don’t think doing miles in them is a problem at all if you can afford the running costs. Probably not financially sensible, which I suppose is why it is being reluctantly sold.

Agree, lots of miles and as long as it's been serviced well all the better for it...…….If subframe is OK then 13k is a steal as far as I can see. Especially if you want to just use it on weekends.

Money looks about right. My 4.7 S was £16k from a main dealer with a warranty that’s been well used and same miles. Looks a low spec though.

Well, higher miles or not it looks bloody stunning the pictures. Change the grille to a GTS one and jobs a good one.

I think if I was at a different stage in my life, I'd snap it up and give it a home... a bargain for someone out there.

Shame that the seller wasn't forthcoming with at least some reference to an engine fault on the ad. If they're serious about selling, at least it's an angle to beat them up on the price to factor in for the repair...

Glad I found this thread - the car is not too far from me and I was near to buying, as I am looking for a replacement to my old 4.2. Thanks again to this great forum

I cannot actually believe this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009274272353

Mileage is higher than most, granted, but if it's been looked after I wouldn't be concerned... before someone else beats me to it, yes, we can't see the subframe from the pictures, but for £13k??? If I had space on my drive I'd chance the odds of getting a divorce and snap this up.
As a comparison I sold an identical one (but with a cream/beige interior) in February for £15.3k with just 50k miles on the clock plus GTS wheels and front grill, full service history and the cam shells all done. So with 84k miles on the clock, even at this price, it still looks a bit ambitious to me.

With that added perspective, I would agree...

... but really, yours sold for just £15k? Perhaps I should keep up at the back...

Yours was beautiful and a bargain my friend ...... So hard to price these. Hardly any 4.7 S for sale at the moment......

I thought the variator rattle was just an annoyance , have any engines failed because of it.
