What would be the benefit of an extra 20A? Even the one on Eurocarparts is the 830A one.

I honestly don't know but at least if there is ever a warranty claim I'd have fitted the exact same specification as the original so giving them less wiggle room. It's my warranty (2 years extended official Maserati warranty) I'm keen to not jeopardise.

It's a battery. Really they won't quibble C

Maybe, maybe not, however I've been on the ****** end of warranty disputes before so would rather be whiter than white (within reason). It's up to the dealer really as they are footing the bill. Yuasa or Official battery will do me fine ;)

I've got the S5 higher amps battery and would also recommend it - I've had no issues with the S5 and the Mas seems to start better.. however I agree with you as I've also been that side of warranty claims and they will find any silly reason not to pay if its a high cost issue.

either way good luck and hope you get it sorted out soon

Yuasa YBX7019 ordered. Should be with me before 10:30am tomorrow. Quick swap over (hopefully) and be back on the road - to the dealer on Wednesday LOL.

It's pretty much the only battery (bar a couple of really budget ones) that perfectly matches the specification of the OEM battery. Less than £140 delivered. 4 years warranty. Feel pretty comfortable with this battery but only time will tell. Just need the cheque to come through from the supplying dealer now ;)

Cheque? How quaint!

It probably wont arrive charged...!

I had to do this recently. I called a number of suppliers. Depending on their prefered brand, they all recommended a slightly different specification battery....

I got the RAC battery for my QP when it did this (after 20 minutes of listening to the radio with the engine off), on the basis it was a quick fix with no messing about, and if I had a future problem it would be their problem. Has been fine for a year now.

Also got a new RAC battery for the Fiat Punto, which they replaced at no charge when it failed 18 months later (possibly due to some sort of battery drain problem in the Fiat).

AND when I gave the RAC a hard time about my renewal costs, I was able to ask them if they also used deceptive rip-off pricing for parts like batteries and they said 'no, of course not' , so I was able to then ask them why I should believe them when they use deceptive rip-off pricing for their renewals. No come-back on that. Ha! Take that you cheating scumbags!!!! (Oh, where was I....)

Arrived fully charged! Has a little indicator on the top to show the charge level ;) I also found a massive variety in recommended batteries, even Yuasa's own website recommended two batteries that were a) a different physical size and b) lower specification. Anything that used my reg plate, or car model, always recommended a lower spec battery. Anyway, I'm back on the road again, and no fireball just yet. All ready to be dropped off at the dealer tomorrow!!!

Lead acid batteries can only be stored fully charged - they then lose some charge over time (but less if stored in ideal conditions) If you buy one and it isn’t charged, send it back immediately. If stored in a discharged condition the lead coats the plates and it will never recover fully.

Sounds like the one you got is fine though.

The original Maserati batteries are rubbish. Many different forums have quotes from people talking about the battery dying after car not being started for a little while or having to use trickle chargers all the time.

My battery on a 2016 would die if I left the car for more then two days. Swapped it out for the Bosch AGM battery. Best thing I could have done. Never had a problem again. Plus the battery is used as standard in rolls Royce and bentleys so made for a heavy workload and stop start.

Maserati should put these in as standard if they had any sense.

This is my battery in my QP, seems pretty good, left car 8 days at Donny Airport on a trip to Dubs to watch the GAA, started no problem, no issues, not sure of the rep. of the manufacturer but it does the job. It's a Monbat, Bulgarian I think, whose language is closest to Church Slavonic, the purest form, has articles and no noun inflections, the opposite of other Slavonic languages like Russian, Czech and Polish.

So there. Can't wait till it's my turn for QOTD next, got some crackers about modal verbs and the passive form...IMG_0782.jpg

Every motorcycle battery Ive ever bought has been supplied dry, in a 2-pac format.
Add acid, fit, and charge as necessary !
Reckon it must a be a shelf life consideration.

There were rumours recently too, that battery buying was going to require registration ( an added fee)
unless you purchased direct from the supplying garage/fitter. More tax for doing nowt...:(

I had a Yuasa battery fitted by the AA 4 years ago for around £150 on my GT. I can leave it for a week without any worry, if it is going to be longer I hook up the Ctek. I did have the Tracker removed a year ago as this was causing a drain resulting in the airbag light coming on. Tracker removed the Tracker for around £120 and the job was completed on my drive.

The good news is that my car started first time once hooked up and behaved ever since. The dealer where I got the car from said the Masser batteries were rubbish but they insist on using Italian batteries even if they're not as good as others. Not sure of the truth behind the Italian bias but hey ho.

One final question though, the sticker on the battery told me to remove the two 'travel plugs' immediately, which I did (one on each side). The vent pipe went into the left hand hole however the right hand hold is currently un-plugged. Is this OK (I presume both are there to allow the gas to be released but should I re-plug on?)
