I used this for the first time time today. It claims that, because the water has all the shite removed, you don’t need to dry your car and that it will happily dry off in the baking sun without leaving the dreaded and hard to remove watermarks. i was sceptical. But I was wrong. Bugger me, but this is impressive!

Now, I should caveat that this is the car’s first wash since being silicon-carbon coated, but the filter is still seriously effective.

Recommened for anyone who who doesn’t like drying their car, or running around doing it hastily in the hot summer sun.

I was washing the Focus on Saturday and it had been sitting in the sun first. It's black, so took on some heat... Any water onto the car steamed off and I couldn't even dry it by running around so it's covered in water marks. Doesn't matter just now though, as it's in need of a machine polish anyway, but I think I'll save my pennies for one of those.

Group buy?

I think that's an RO filter... which does turn water into magic! and at under a ton seems ok value, but you could possibly get a more elaborate jobber from an industrial window washing supplier or aquarium shop.

I run an HMA & RO filter for the discus who get 50gal fresh a day, also makes the best and most predictable filter coffee ;)
Does do a great job rinsing the cars smear free after a snow foam wash. I load an old olive drum overnight then using a small pond pump send it direct to jet wash thingy.

I use the 7ltr Raceglaze product - about the size of a fire extinguisher. Easy to hold with one hand and run a final rinse with an open hose in the other hand.

Highly recommended.

The nice thing with this is that it's small enough to stick it in the shed when you're not using it. It apparently does 700 litres and a refill is £45. Trouble is, you can't tell when it's running low and it's apparently it's a farly quick transition from 'greati' to 'bugger!'. Just needs keeping an eye on, but I reckon 700 litres should be easily good for 25-30 rinses. More or less. A water quality monitor is a tenner off Amazon.

Interested if there is a group buy

Worth a try. Based on my interaction with them when I was buying, I don't think there will be a big discount unless large volume for a group buy. Their product is well differentiated with refillable resin and lot of sales to owners with prestige cars publicised on those cars fora.

But worth a try for sure.

I can vouch for this way of rinsing the car too. I have access to deionised water and always rinse off my vehicles with it. No streaks, smears or water marks to worry about and no drying necessary. Well worth the investment assuming the filters are up to scratch.

By the way, CheshMas, thanks for pointing me in the direction of this in the first place. Much obliged to you.

I have the big version bolted to the back of my house, looks like an deep sea oxygen tank. Great product, and makes washing cars in this weather a lot easier. Mine however needs a refill.

I wonder if this works the same way as the water softeners that remove the calcium from the water.
I'm installing one for our home this week

I'd be interested in a group buy on something like this as been looking at putting a solution in based around on of these systems.

But have you seen / smelt the crud that collects in there? (Mine anyway)

Might be nutritious for plants but not putting it on my paint!
