Radio code after new battery.

Hi,
As I wait on my cars arrival im thinking of all the jobs im going to do, one is to fit a brand new battery. Do I need the code on a 2011 granturismo?

I didn't need to enter a code on mine (a 2008 and a 2013, I have had t change batteries on both) but I don't know if it is a requirement if it is disconnected for any length of time
