What is it with drivers that "look to stop" at every opportunity rather than, as I was taught, "look to proceed but prepare to stop".

Followed a car yesterday that was constantly doing this. Slowing down almost to a stop as they approached junctions even though you could see it was clear. Slowing for green lights, presumably in case they changed. At one point this was down to 20 in a 40 limit. Surprisingly they changed. If they'd driven at 40 they'd have got through.

Topped off this morning by a Fiesta stopping at a roundabout, with good visibility and nothing coming, only to be rear ended by the Disco behind it that was expecting them to just drive on. The Disco driver is, legally, in the wrong but goodness me the Fiesta driver shouldn't be driving.

The only possibly benefit of autonomous cars is that this sort of thing will be a thing of the past. The cars will intersect either other with perfect timing at junctions.

Mrs Catman does this. I can only assume it's because either
a) They haven't learned / worked out where to look
b) They've run out of processing power.

I was taught to "read the road" but I don't think people can anymore.

I was sat at a junction the other night literally for 5 minutes because the indecisive driver at the front of the queue couldn't make a descision!

There appears to be loads of things put up now to slow drivers down.

There's a roundabout near my mum that actually has a sign deliberately blocking the view of anyone other than the first person in the queue at a roundabout.
I can only assume this is so people stop. Every time. Rather than keeping traffic flowing.

I can only imagine the trouble you would have pulling out onto the roundabout if you had something like a Dodge Viper of a Merc SLR as you would be worried that someone would take the front of your car off before you even saw them!

There is a trend these days to put fences and signs on roundabouts to block visibility to stop people judging the traffic and moving on seamlessly I suspect its down to the amount of people who can't judge distances properly.

My other pet hate that is becoming more common is traffic lights on roundabouts. I get them in busy rush hour periods but most of the time they just stop traffic flowing

Those who view your house four times, negotiate for weeks on the price make an offer then a month later chage their mind without any reason a few days before Christmas.

I hope their chain falls to bit after they have started negotiations on their new home.

People who smoke outside hospital doors right in front of the sign that says "NO SMOKING ANYWHERE ON THIS NHS TRUST PROPERTY"

:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

I know,
I experienced it again this morning.
Just take 'em out in the street put 'em up against a brick wall and shoot 'em down like dogs
Save the NHS a fortune
Problem is my brick wall is getting longer and longer to accommodate all the T Pots.
The latest is Aled Jones....................... any additions?

People who think that because its the last day before Xmas you should be thankful they turned up for work, and they are not really there to graft, even tho they knock off at lunchtime. I absolutely despair.!!!

Just bad drivers.
I know we all make errors but is it a seasonal thing?
People reversing out onto a main road without a care and expecting you to accommodate them.
I could go on................ and on.................and on............and

Accident management companies , when did all that ******** start

Go hit from behind in the Mercedes, I declined the courtesy car but if I had taken it the cost to the other party insurance would have been £3220 @£230 a day

For an idea how ridiculous that is costco now do car hire, I looked at the cost of renting a VW passat for 5 weeks and it was under £800

And people wonder why insurance is going up when they insist on a like for like replacement car

People that leave huge gaps between them and the person ahead of them while the traffic light is green and slow down just in case the traffic light turns amber.

WTF is it with people that don't switch their lights on in driving rain? Do they have x-ray vision and assume everyone else does too? Do they think that if they use them when its not pitch black that they will wear out prematurely, or is do they believe that the DRLs are sufficient?

I've had them all this morning, but the worst was the person driving slowly, because its raining, along a dual carriageway with no lights on. Couldn't see them until the last moment. Madness!

Had exactly the same - non fault accident, completely cocked up the claim by 'management company' repeated texts saying they would update me when they had more info to update me.

I did insist on a like for like car, trouble is it wasnt the same.
No CEL
No little quibbles that sometimes appeared
It was economical
It was whisper quite
Everything worked
It had no soul
It was German

Its foggy. I know that its not particularly dark, but visibility is poor. Turn your f*%&ing lights on you pillocks!!!

Innumerable numpties guilty of this on the way in today. The worst though has to be the F-Type convertible that went hurtling past on the dual carriageway, well in excess of 70 and dived in between two cars to get to the exit. No lights or indicators. Must see no end of carnage in his rear view mirror.

DRLs and dash lights on all the time...is it any wonder people forget to turn the main lights on nowadays.

No excuse but its what is happening.

That and automatic lights. People seem to think that having automatic lights means that if they don't come on then lights aren't necessary.
