These adds for solicitors going after emissions pay-outs trying to convince people claiming that they would not have bought the car if they had known it was worse for the environment... really?? anyone EVER bought a diesel car and thought "yes i am buying this car as it will be good for the planet" ? Just in case you do know anyone that did think that please send me their details as I have an environmental investment project they might just be interested in and a friend of mine is a Colonel in the Nigerian Armed Forces that has 8billion USD he needs to deposit in a UK bank and is willing to pay 5% to the account holder.. all he needs is their bank account, sort code, mothers maiden name, DOB, full address, NI number, children's names. parents names, social media id's, a list of direct debits from their bank account, passport photocopy, a recent utility bill and their pets names..
I can however understand the sentiment that performance / economy or 2nd hand value was dented but not the enviro angle.. really start to get me .. At some point there will not doubt be one "have you joined a forum about cars and found threads that are not about cars? Call Leach and Bloooduscker to get the compensation you deserve"..... rant over and breathe..

I do hate that sort of ambulance-chasing, but I suppose it is not so much, "I wouldn't have bought one" as, "the second-hand values are depressed after the news" (for no good reason).

People claiming to have been caught out by France being added to the self isolation list!
Clearly France being added to “the list” is disappointing especially to those booked to go or even there already, but people claiming to have been “caught out” or “surprised” are driving me mad.
The news is full of holiday makers claiming they only have a day to get back, but there has been talk of France being risky for at least two weeks and a week ago it was rumoured it would be added to the list today! so where is the surprise ??
Disappointment is completely understandable (crikey we have the SM LeMans trip in the balance) even making an argument to say it’s not necessary, but moaning it came out of the blue and was a surprise is bonkers. These people should have taken their heads out of the sand weeks ago and made plans when they took the risk to travel.
And of course those now having to self isolate for 14 days will be looking to their employer or the benefits system to pay for their poor decision making.

In additionto the fact that this was an entirely predictable risk, there is always this stupid reaction to any news, along the lines of:
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" - "Because I am telling you the instant I know, so there was no 'earlier' in which to tell you."
and
"Why didn't you give more notice?" - "Because I'm telling you the instant I know, and it is urgent."
and
"Why didn't you warn me that you might tell me this?" - "Because I didn't know for sure 'earlier', and if I had said anything you would have accused me of speculation, FFS."

"Why did you delay telling me, when you knew earlier?" - "Because I wanted to have a plan in place before telling you and getting complaints about lack of planning. "
and
"Why is there no detailed plan ready for dealing with this?" - "Because you insisted on being told about everything immediately."
and
"But why...." - "That's it! I forking quit! Find someone else to take responsibility for you and to take all this shirt."

Another driving rant .... just driven back from North Wales along what should be wonderful roads. But the drive was spoiled by f#cktards who insist on following a slow moving tractor / caravan / whatever so closely that I can't pick them off one by one and have to find a gap where I can get past multiple cars.

So f#cking annoying! If you are not going to overtake then leave a f#cking gap so that I can overtake. And don't f#cking flash your lights at me because I need to pull in in front of you.

Travelling along national speed limit roads at 40mph may be ok with you but it really pisses me off.

Happens all the time here in Sweden. Thank goodness the GS screams through 7000rpm to allow lots of overtaking.
