Just found this thread & thought I’d share my car servicing experience.
Because of an ongoing injury to my left arm since first lockdown I’ve been struggling with driving long distances & as a result of searching the forum I contacted Dale of Prestige Autoworks who is mobile & comes to you (Home/football ground or workplace)
What a genuinely nice guy who really knows his stuff particularly Maserati however can work on anything special as prior to coming to me yesterday he was fitting a custom steering wheel to a Lamborghini Urus.
I had the crank pulley oil seal changed which is not an easy job as the main bolt can be a nightmare to remove even with heat & a little persuasion (mine no exception) & I also had my offside valve cover gasket replaced.
Previously he has replaced all bushes on front suspension including the oil filled lower arm bushes which weren’t faulty however he wanted the job done properly and I’ve had a full service including carbon can.
I can’t fault his work and definitely worth considering for the cost.

I was looking at a really nice looking red Granturismo, had the Strad bonnet and alloys, all the carbon packs, looked really nice.
Went to see it, checked it out and drove it.
Then the seller became weird and very defensive when asked about discrepancies. I caught him.out about a few issues, they were minor so why lie?

Small things so not the end of the world, I still wanted the car.

Then came the clutch issue, it was an MC shift so nearly £4K cost. I think it was due as there was no evidence to suggest it was done (40k miles on car). He lied to me and told me it was fine - as there was no slipping. We know thats not how it works with this car. He is claiming to be a Maserati specialist (he is not). I asked for a readout from the ecu, he didnt have it, even though he is a "specialist".
I then asked to have an independent inspection as a condition of purchase, I stipulated it just needed to show no major issues i.e. clutch, major rust etc..
He then refused outright and gave me the old "Ive been selling cars for X years, what do you know etc..." I still asked let me get it inspected, but he still refused. Turned down the sale because I wanted an inspection, pretended to be offended by this.

i got dodgy vibes throughout. Im not saying all his cars are dodgy, but he was dishonest and avoided letting me check the car properly. This was over £40K, and he expected me to just roll over and buy the car on his word.

Im going to say AVOID!

Compare this to a professional like RichardGrace cars or Nuvola, the difference could not be bigger.

I ended up buying a Strad in the end, so its not all bad! (not from him obviously!)

Any car where the owner refuses an non-invasive independent inspection, at my cost, to me is an instant walk away

Certainly walk away if an independent inspection is not allowed.

But they have pretty good reviews on Autotrader:

Yeah, I was suprised to be honest as I saw the Autotrader reviews too, hence made the journey to see the car.
I think he had a lemon that he was looking to offload to someone who wouldnt ask too many questions.

Thing is the car looked immense so I know it will sell to someone, not all buyers are so savvy. Big bill coming for someone unfortunately.

Agreed - run away and run away fast. Also sellers who get offended when you walk away after an inspection.

A few years ago I walked away from the sale of a Ferrari ... which was described by a well respected dealer (who I have heard nothing but good reviews about) as the "best you will find". And it was priced accordingly.

I agreed to purchase subject to inspection and offered to put down a deposit after 2 visits and a lengthy test drive ... but was told my handshake was good enough.

After paying a lot of money to get the car picked up and taken to SMDG, I was presented with a lengthy report which detailed a number of deficiencies (some more serious than others) and confirmed some of the question marks I had.

I went back to the seller and showed them the report and proposed a renegotiation of price (I was still intending to buy) but was told point blank that the price was the price and that I was "timewasting scum". I told them I wasn't going to buy and then the abuse really started!!!

On line reviews are only as good as the people who post them. I nearly bought a 4.7 QP from a dealer with predominantly good reviews but a 10 minute chat had me walking away, and another forum member had a bad experience there.

What Phil said…. Review like this are not worth looking at. I could get 20 off my mates to write a great review and you will never know…..

Hi everyone,

Could someone recommend a good Independent Maserati Service point in East London?

My Granturismo has a issue that it doesn't charge up the battery anymore (it has a 3 month old battery and alternator) but simply doesn't charge up and cuts out.

So I need to have it towed to a garage within 10mi of my home address in Shoreditch (East London).

Thank you so much!

Dale @PrestigeAutoworks is mobile and would come to you if your struggling to get anywhere within your radius.
He is very busy, so be patient for replies, but as your local ish to him, he may be able to squeeze you in.

If you charge the battery off the car, would that allow you to drive further and open up more options?

I was thinking Felice or is he out of the picture now?

Ahh, yes. He trades as Auto Alfa. Moved to Basildon which is far more pleasant (did anyone ever say that about Basildon) than Chadwell Heath, but rather further from SHoreditch

I've had a couple of small jobs done by a body shop at Porton (located just off the A338 between Salisbury and the A303). Most of their clients come by word of mouth, as I did, and my experience has been positive; nice work, and very professional.
