Replacement for the 3200

With the Maser gone and summer arriving, possibly, I’ve bought a replacement. Couldn’t bring myself to have another Maserati just yet so discounted a GranTurismo, decided against a Boxster and couldn’t really afford a late enough 911. Time for a convertible again me thinks so I’ve gone for the full on Brummie drug dealer’s wheels and bought a convertible M3.

What will you do with all the free evenings and weekends now there is no 3200 to play with?!

Need to rebuild the engine for race car, the new crankshaft has been sitting on the side since before Christmas and need to sort a fuelling issue on the bike, decoked the silencers yesterday.

I have got the same one that I bought as a daily driver - it took me a year to get smitten... I did the exhaust mod (2.5 one) and it changed the car... I still miss the GT - which although a different car has more character, presence and sounds better.

Fine machine. Am I right in thinking that was the last ‘proper’ Alpina engine?

I think so, bored out US M3 block, Alpina crank, rods, pistons, head, inlet and exhaust. I think the current ones are just BMW engines with the boost turned up.

It’s got the standard exhaust, I’ve not made my mind up about making it louder, it’s quite nice at times to be quiet.

Nevermind....The Magnolia looks half decent on the other hand...! :as002:

It’s brilliant isn’t it, although it drops **** 4 times a year, flower casings, petals, seed pods and leaves.

I’m not sure of the latest trends amongst the local dealers, is the Mr T gold chain look still in fashion?
