Cheers Cat, so the fact they are there does something with the air flow etx. Similar principle to ram’s in that they play about with the air flow, of course resonators aren’t claiming to be rams.

I utilise CFD through work so totally up with these type things I just wasn’t sure if there was some internal furniture going on inside them

I don't think there's anything inside but not cut one in half :)

^^ I would love to understand this resonator stuff, but my brain will not admit new information today. Does it make it sound better, and perform better? Is it a fixed unit on our car?

A little of each. Tune it right and you can cram a bit more air in which means you can burn more fuel.

looks smart with your car.
was it awkward to fit? The corrugation in OEM part helps during removal. I compress it to shrug it off the intake. Makes easier access to the air filter. Guess the correct method is to unbolt filter housing first, but I am a bit lazy.
I don’t know as yet as the picture is from the suppliers website and just placed order. Due about mid June so will post some pics and any fitting tips when done. Fitted similar rubber sleeve intake to another car and trick was to roll the ends back and then roll them over the tubes when in place.

Seeing as I could tick most of the boxes on the thread about old men looking like c..k's in convertibles, I thought I would add to the cringe factor and have purchased a red finish intake housing with carbon sound chambers from Urutu in the US to replace the OE black plastic.

Cost about £265 inc courier and customs at poor exchange rate. Thoughts? Cool or C..k? View attachment 70942View attachment 70943

Well, the kit arrived from the US this week in good nick so fitted it this morning.

The red sleeve is thicker than the OE item, so it helps to unclip the front of the air box to give some extra wiggle room to get the sleeve in place and I used a thin film of grease on the inside edges to help it slide into place. All the hose clips supplied are stainless and reusable.

Once that was done, fixing the vacuum pipe and carbon chambers was easy. No noticeable difference in sound as I expected, so this is just cosmetic, but does compliment the red cam covers well IMO.
