Take £10k off that and it would still be toppy. Lovely car though.

But would rather pay double and more and have a Shamal again instead.

There are a few interesting things about. A 424, Gandini Spyder from 1993 and, I know these are popular here, a couple of Venturi Turbo 300s...

Yes - that 3200 belongs to a friend of mine. The engine rebuild took the best part of a year all in. Just as an example, you can no longer buy a crankshaft for a 3200. So he had to find several used ones, have them stress tested for cracks etc, and pick the best one. This all takes time and costs money. Bottom line, if your 3200 suffers from end-float damage now, the repair is highly likely to be more expensive than the car is worth. But of course, that doesn't stop a true Maser 3200 fan from taking on the challenge, and nor should it.
It took me about 9 months to collect all the parts necessary for my 3200GT engine rebuild, some I had to have made especially, then Shiltec had the car for a year
Was it worth it....lets just say I could of bought nearly two Quatroporte's for the price of the rebuild!

Just been through the classics thread looking at all of the QPIV posts, you blokes certainly know your stuff, this is such a fantastic forum it really is. I came across an old PH thread yesterday too from 2015 which mentioned a potential £6k bill for the cam belt / chain job, it did mention it might be cheaper depending on the Indy who does it / whether or not the engine comes out to do the job (I'm reading conflicting info on this point). 'Enlightening' is the word I'd use there!

Also worth noting - in the latest issue of Classic & Sportscar there's a piece about a firm in Nottingham who use a 3D scanner to make pattern parts which they then manufacture on site, this might be a good route for the NLA parts like brake discs etc.

Nice price if its a good one, I can easily see me in another in a few years time but it would have to be one of those few near perfect ones that come up occasionally

I should have added - it's the same car (same reg) I linked in my first post, but the ad is about eighteen months old, I thought it was interesting that it popped up while I was looking for something else this afternoon...! ;)
