Rusty Wheel Nuts

4200 CC. I know that these wheel nuts do tend to look tatty and despite careful painting they soon deteriorate.
I've seen that an option is to get stainless nuts (bit expensive) but I am wondering if anyone knows of an other option.

Solvol Autosol works to a degree but s/s is the way to go for them to look really good.
Plus there are silver coloured plastic caps available that may fit over yours?

They'll always rust again regardless, so you have 2 options:

1. Sprogs stainless bolts - well worth the investment IMO.
2. Vauxhall Insignia wheel nut covers. The only ones available in 22mm, but all are grey coloured IIRC. Available on ebay generally.

A old wives trick for cleaning chrome is tin foil and water, never tried it on anything as small as a wheel nut though

I couldn't agree more; Sprogz are definitely the way forward. I got a set for mine and would heartily recommend them. No more dicking around trying to clean rusting wheel nuts or keep paint on them, it really is a no-brainer. Also, when you see them you will appreciate what great value for money they are.

These work well enough on a Vauxhall but should NEVER be seen on a Maserati. It would be like putting a plastic TURBO badge on the boot, cheap and tacky. Perhaps not so much on a 3200 though. ;)

Bought a full set of replacement bolts for the 3200 £50 on Ebay, yet to fit them but will once I've had a full alloy wheel refurb done next month.

What are your thoughts on these on eBay? item No: 111620592209
When you read the full description there maybe a chance other colours are available if the question is asked!

hillengineering.co.uk? Ouch they're a bit pricey but very nice....

Yes, not sure if the ones they list are the correct length, but i'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to get some made the correct length.
Would love some to replace the chrome plated bolts supplied with my Formula Dynamic rims.

The FD ones are complete sh!te, flash coated cr4p and mine lasted two removal cycles before they started rusting. I got a set of Sprogz bolts and guess what; they are still perfect after several cycles and will continue to be after many, many more.
