I tell myself there must be something wrong here..they're too cheap.
Okay. I dont want 90% of the cars out there but Im a fussy git..
And perhaps the forum just keeps throwing up cheap examples...?
Mine was no prize winning example, believe me...I feel a bit sick. I thought they'd gone about as low as they could/would. How wrong can you be ? :p

Flip side of coin Tim............There are others Classico and Face-lifts up for 20-30k. You get what you pay for and I feel those 10k ones may have some costly issues!!

Bad time of year to sell a car, bit of uncertainty with Brexit and a bit more depreciation and end up with cheap examples on the market but there must get to a point where more money is to be made in breaking the car for parts, a new door opening weatherstrip is £834 +vat, someone had a grill for sale over £2 grand.

I best not say how much I paid for my 04 Med Blue one with its oil pressure issue that I bought blind but she turned out well especially as putting one through NZ compliance which can be a real ball ache but she passed first time ;)

Any old Maserati could be a potential nightmare and the only way to find out is have a look, get an inspection or take a chance. We all know the potential issues so going in with your eyes wide open and expecting the worse is a good place to start.

That said not that many years ago I was seriously looking at cheap Ferraris, 365 GT4, 400i or 308 GT Dino and was talked out of them by many who warned of doom and gloom but look at the prices now.

Cheapest I paid was £6k for a 4200 running fine but then developed a bottom end knock. I was told by the guy I sold it to that a few oil changes improved the situation.

It is the time of year to bag a bargain and flip it in the Spring. Tempted with another Spyder myself, might hang on to it for the Italy trip.

...just had a look, Spyder's are demanding strong money at the moment, £20k entry so its not all bad in the 4200 world.

I pondered a cheap Spyder a while ago. It looks like there is no such thing anymore.

Best not say what I got for mine then :D

it had solvable issues I just wasn't prepared to put any more money into it , when you're selling one in a private sale it's worth what somebody will give you , the guy that bought it got it through a mot so he must've sorted the problems out.

There is a QPV with a misfire that is struggling to sell Matt. Up for 6500 I think at the moment I think.

Not sure it's just the year.....It's been a tough year to sell a V8 car let alone a Maserati. Look at the great cars on here over the year that took an age and many price drops. Most people just don't want them these days....we are in a minority.

Spot on Andy.
Its a funny thing and like you and most of us on here have had a few nice motors and I for one love the whole package and I certainly don't have loads of cash.
But filling the car with fuel and knowing I have a few miles for smiles is always worth it.
I personally wouldn't pay £200 to have my hair done but I don't mind that for a tyre.
I just hope in the future with the way the World is going we can indulge our pleasures.

Without being rude my friend I can see you haven't spent £200 to have your hair done. But other than hair dead right Phil.

There is a lovely light blue Spyder for sale in the Maserati Club at the moment. I know the car and owner and it is a great (early) example. I think the asking price is £18500, so imagine it could be bought as a Christmas present at a figure below £18k.

From memory it’s a 2002 car, with cream interior, about 70k miles, full history (mainly McGrath).

That does look very nicely presented - lovely colour combo too. An '02 with 78K though so £18K sounds about right.
