Servicing Costs

I know that this is an old chestnut but what should I expect to pay for a Maserati dealer, rather than an independent to service my GranTurismo 4.2, and I assume that I can haggle? It is not one of the major services, but apparently one of the 'in between' services. The car is Jan 2009 and has done 20k miles, and was serviced last, 12 months ago.

Thanks for ANY advice.

PS Answers such as 'the earth' will be ignored...! ;-)

That will be the six year service which is the same as the two year service IIRC. Something like £1500 I would guess but check they are doing the tracking as well as that is meant to be included in the price.

Meridien Modena in Hampshire are a main dealer that offer a "match any like for like quote from respected independent" (not the exact wording, but close enough), so give them a shout. Dominic is the chap in service I usually talk with.

Maranello Egham also offer the same. In practice, they do try to wiggle out of it though.

I understand that the main dealers state that a GT service interval is every 12,000 miles or TWO years, does anyone really only have their GT looked at every 2 years? It seems an awful long time between services to me

Well, I have only done 4,000 miles in 12 months and the car lives in a garage so I think that a service every 2 years seems OK to me. And besides, at the prices charged I'm in no rush....!

Is it just me or is the servicethecar site not working - I have used it in the past to price check the local main dealer but when I enter my details this time around it produces no quotes? I raised a query on site but got no reply. Tried gransport / different post code etc but still no quote.

Just trying to get an indi annual service estimate, or two, before approaching the local NI main dealer. Thanks.

Did you serviced? Mine is due for the 25k service-major one!

Just ring two or three dealers yourself and ask for a discount. Job done.

Reason is that it is vague as to what you are getting with a miles vs time quote. It needs to be more specific so you know if belt changes, tracking, O2 sensors etc etc are in the price or not.
