Now that my S is out of warranty I thought I might shop around for a better service deal than the main dealers. Spoke to Kyle at Shiltech and it's very obvious this man knows his stuff, gave me a real warm fuzzy feeling knowing my baby will be looked after. So when i hit the 25k mark, the car will be going to Kyle for her service. While there I'm going to have him look at the suspension to see if he can dial out the vagueness that comes from Skyhook. I am also thinking about replacing the standard P Zero tyres with the Falken equivalent - I think they are FK452. Any thoughts on this because P Zero's are getting stupid expensive now and don't last very long at all. I'm not even that impressed with the grip levels especially when pulling away, any kind of turn has the inside rear scrabbling like a falling climber.

I'll be sure to let you know how things go with Shiltech, but going by my phone call, I think it will be a very good experience.

Wouldn't trust my car with anyone else, well apart from Matt at D2.

Good call on the Falkens as well. Can't comment on the GT, but great on my GS.

Kyle is most assuredly a top man, as are the rest of the Shiltech team. Hoping for a call from him soon....

Wots the cost difference?

Main dealer circa £1k, Shiltech - £400 And I reckon they will take a lot more pride than an MD who just needs to get cars through as quickly as possible. That said, Graypaul has always done right by me, but are on the expensive side.

Didn't think Falken make rubber for the GT only option was Michelin

That was my understanding as well if you want matching brands front and back.

The Michelins' have a higher load index IIRC so will give a slightly firmer ride.

interesting thats a price difference that needs to be seriously considered and leaves me budget for x-pipes

They're a great team at Shiltech, very knowledgeable, friendly and honest. They even pick you up and drop you off at the station - you can't say fairer than that. I am hoping that the next time I need their pick up service, they happen to be test driving their client's F40 that I've seen there - what a delight!

yeah, I'll pop up there. I get my Tuscan serviced in Hexham so distance is not an issue for me. Quality/price and customer service is though!
