I moved into my new house 3 weeks ago and it has a lovely detached 2 car garage.
Although it looks brilliant from the outside with lovely brick walls and slatted roof, the inside is unfinished; the floor is still made of rough concrete, and the walls still have the aerated blocks exposed.
Although I have a super vague idea of what I want to do with it (render walls, install interlocking floor matts etc...), I would love to get inspiration from fellow forum members.
If you could show me pictures of the inside of your garage, it’s be fantastic. I particularly after smart storage, shelving ideas etc etc...
Anything to make it cosy and practical
Thanks

I’m halfway there - just painting the walls and floors makes a massive difference...

One of the benefits of the proposed move to Ireland is space to have or build a decent garage space

Great post. When i'm back in the UK i've been trying to sort out the garage. Had new sectional doors put on, love them... So far, 2 coats of PVA, hopefully next trip over I can finish painting the walls white and get the floor tiled or painted.

Athol now lives in there.
What I would say, is if you are going to render / plaster your internals walls, check and make sure you have a vapour barrier / insulation in your cavity, otherwise it may not stick for long, my mate did this on an admittedly single skin brick garage and one day in winter found all the plaster on the floor - I did warn him, but, horses to water and all that...

Yep - Garage envy ??

As shown below, my home garage is still just a garage, not a man cave. But the new storage unit next to my office - that's a different matter. It'll house 8+ cars, a gym, shower room and a study/office space. But that's not until December when the current tenant moves out.
