Is there a group buy planned?
Sorry if it’s already been asked, but who would be recommended for fitting in the North West?
Matt is the owner of this fine forum, and Sports Italia one of his new ventures... his price of £950 is as low as you are likely to get it and he has or is the main stockist in the UK.

There is a mobile fitter on this thread, but that far north is likely to need a few cars to make it worth while.

Ben, on the 1st group buy (if memory serves) you could buy the kit and instructions were provided to do a self install - time consuming but not too tricky.

I had Base Car Audio in Preston fit mine since I bought direct from an Australian supplier before the group buy came about, but it was bloody expensive!

If I’d been patient and had the option again I’d definitely consider a self install if I were you and you’re at all handy with basic tools…

It is possible in a day but it can’t be rushed so two days to install correctly and not under pressure.

I have emailed the box supplier and am just waiting for instructions regarding the final small issue.

Then I’ll be straight in with an order of 25 kits.

Thanks conaero,
What would the cost of just the kit?
I’ve done standard DIN head unit changes in other cars, I would be a little more nervous taking may Maserati apart and finding a good route for the rear cam wiring. Think I would try and find and discuss with a local shop near me in Cumbria.

Finally, its here!...please be patient while the file uploads.

Apologies for the video cutting short but when I played music it ended the video as I was filming on the same connected device.

It will auto connect CarPlay if you want it to when you enter the car.

Its BT Android Auto too but as yet untested.

I know not Adam I assume it will be quicker but the screen does go off on the phone so it’s not like it’s burning away the battery

True regarding the screen. Nav apps have killed my battery before but no idea whether that's the screen or the constant sat-tracking and map downloads.

It’s more likely to be the 4G connection, that is intensively draining on the battery.

Using Carplay in either of my cars eats the battery on my phone, I think it is the data connection. Whether I have a wired or wireless connection it needs to be plugged in to charge in long journeys.

Having done some test calls with Matt on this new version, the sound quality is excellent on phone calls.

Hi Matt. When and where would you like us to send the money. I imagine it might take a while to ship to Canada so I am trying to get on the early list.
Cheers!

Hi Sportsmaserati.co.uk forum members.

It’s been a while and I would like to firstly apologise for those who have been unsuccessful in contacting us through phone calls and/or emails.

In April of 2020 Prestige Installs was taking over management of Team Impulse in Watford in an aim to cover the area of St Albans & Watford. As we all know, Covid hit at a crucial time for business and unfortunately with staff at Impulse taking a priority, a tough decision to put Prestige Installs on hold was made.
I understand some of your frustrations, but Team Impulse has been in business since 2001 and with 3 engineers and 2 sales staff with over 30 years of experience, as many businesses had to, we had to adapt quickly to still be here now. I’ve read some posts and I can definitely re-assure you that it was never personal or that we didn’t want to work with you.

Moving forward, to get a hold of me or to discuss any of your queries with any of our staff, please use the following contact details:

Team Impulse
447 St Albans Road
Watford
WD24 6PR

We hope to be able to re-build trust and look forward to speaking with you.

Regards,
Paul

Had the CarPlay kit fitted by Matt yesterday, really pleased with the results and had made a world of difference to the car.

The guys were amazing there, very welcoming and knowledgeable, absolutely recommend them.

(One interesting note, I usually keep my phone in my righthand trouser pocket but found there's something near either in the door or the seat that the phone doesn't like. There was a slight lag in the Waze app, put it in the other pocket and all was spot on. Made no difference to non-realtime apps such as Spotify etc)
