Thanks Zep. I’ll probably try the OEM ferodo pads when I change the discs. The company that makes these discs thoroughly recommends Ferodo pads. There are different grades from a standard OEM type through to race compounds, you probably want to start at the lower end as the sportier ones could still be quite sharp on initial braking.
My rear discs and pads need replacing. What would you recommend? Will do fronts with your system when needed. ThanksThis is where it all gets a bit interesting. If you don’t change the master cylinder, you have to keep the same piston area in the caliper, or you have an issue with pedal travel, so the only benefit from a 8 pot caliper is increased pad area, not really something there is a massive issue with. To me, the difference to a German is pedal pressure, there is more servo assistance which gives the feel of more initial bite.
Almost anything is possible, 380mm is the limit for the standard caliper in terms of adaption, but with a different caliper 400mm would be possible, but would need a more complex mounting bracket and attention to wheel clearance and would probably be at least another £2k. But happy to do it if there is the appetite.

great thanks for your help. Would you recommend a different pad? I would like to improve the feel and consistency and whilst this may be affected by the front discs/pads etc I would welcome any suggestions for the rear too. Cheers
Did he warn you they only fit if you have yellow calipers?Look what I got……..Big thanks to @Zep for sorting these out for me. Gonna have to wait until Jan to fit, along with some other work I need done. Looking forward to seeing how they go.

Off to Halfords to get a rattle can……that should sort itDid he warn you they only fit if you have yellow calipers?
Service is due in Jan and I am one of the ones in the queue for new hub as ABS sensor is out front left. Figured that would get the lot done all at once. Tino and Nino at Barr Tech do a good job of looking after mine.Lovely, I’m in the same boat. Need new Zep discs & pads all round in spring when the GT goes in to AV for service, braided brake hoses, 25 mm rear lowering springs (to close the huge gap on the rear arches) Stindig alu paddles and probably another few bits.
Well, it took quite a long time to get them fitted, but I have to say, they are a little bit good. Make a real difference to the stopping power. Very happy. Thanks @Zep
Again another nod to Tino and Nino at Barr Tech. Always excellent service

Can’t wait to get mine back with all 4 Zep’iesJust an update to this. After some spirited driving around Cornwall, I have to say they make a huge difference. The additional stopping power is very noticeable. Highly recommend upgrade.
