Wow how bad are the originals, what mileage have they supposed to have done? And is the car not used very much, what with all that corrosion on the pad contact area?
On the plus side the new discs look very good indeed!!!!

Delivery update:

A friend of mine has allowed me to use his business courier rate. The discs will be moving to his warehouse in the next couple of days so they can be sent from there - this means I can send them out from early next week.

The cost for 4 discs to a UK address is £12.50 including VAT which I think is excellent!

Please let me know via PM if you want to take advantage of this. I will also be sending this information via PM to everyone.

PM sent - looking to collect

First of all thanks for all your hard work - sent you pm (assume you have hundreds) and a few quied extra on the delivery. Might get you and someone special a drink.
Secondly - those brakes look horny!!!!

I had 20 minutes earlier, so chucked on a front disc:

New vs. old - the old disc is 'titanic spec' from my black GS.
The quality of the new disc is notable - anti-corrosion coating on the hub and around the perimeter edge of the disc, larger diameter holes (F550 spec) and holes are countersunk to help resist cracking and build-up of dirt/dust.

Old disc removed and hub cleaned up with a wire brush:

Disc bolted in place on hub:

Caliper refitted:

New pads fitted:

Wheel back on and looking much better:

I'll be back out first thing to fit the remaining 3 discs, then I have to do it all again with the yellow GS!

I'll send a group PM to everyone who's asked to utilise the courier. Just trying to work through the mountain of PMs, emails and texts!

Might do the brake shoes at the same time. And while I've sent them away for relining, get the wheels refurbished...this is getting expensive. But still a lot cheaper than four discs from the official route...:D

To speed things up, please would anyone wanting to have their discs sent by courier pay £12.50 into the same account as before, using their forum name as a reference. Thanks to those who already have.

The discs will be sent out Wednesday/Thursday as I'm not around to do it before then.

I will send a group PM with my bank details for those who no longer have them.

And does anyone do, braided brake hoses for cars? I know Hel and Goodridge do for bikes...

And I might as well replace the brake fluid...dot4 or 5?...:what:

I'm not convinced braided hoses are necessary unless you're using the car on track a lot. Bear in mind this is a modification and therefore will need to be declared to your insurance company.

Replacing the brake fluid is a good idea if it hasn't been changed in the last 18/24 months. It should be changed every 2 years as a matter of course.
