I'm very much a Ducati man. Had an M821, a 998s and the 899 which is a keeper.
Prior to these i run a HD 883 for some time and my first bike was an aprilia 125 2T which I regret selling for very little to make space.
Quantum leap from a HD883 to a 899!
Despite not being Italian I am seriously considering the new Royal Enfield 650. Was impressed with the build quality, Harris frame and 3 year warranty. Gets rave reviews comparing with a Bonnie.

I’ve still got a couple of bikes lying around that I don’t ride anymore;

Yamaha R1 (Mk1)
Suzuki GS750DB
Suzuki GT750A
BSA C15 (in bits)
Triton 750 (in bits)

I’ll get around to selling them sometime, apart from the Beezer as that was the first bike I ever bought and I passed my test on it in 1979.

Used to have T120 great first bike , 2 days after i passed my test , what i noticed the biggest difference fom driving mates honda 500 fours and 750 fours was the vibration difference , it was immense , i could hardly feel and keep my feet on the foot rests doing over the tonne , my bike of all time would of been the Kwacker 550 triple , mate had one awesome bit of kit of the time, few years later used to use a Z900 for weekend trundiling back and forwards to Germany working , often thought now of getting a harley for a bit of pottering but Kaz would throw a loony .............................not that its ever stopped me before lol

Mine still does, especially if I run it on mineral oil. With synthetic, it’s a lot cleaner so when Its back on the road, I’m going back to mineral and bollocxs to Greta Funsponge.

In the 70s I had a mate with a KH400 , nobody wanted to ride behind him but unfortunately we were all on 250s so he didn't give us a choice , it did put out some smoke though , he though it funny to drop a couple of years and give it a squirt

Just watching this on youtube 1977 transatlantic trophy oulton park , you can see why Kenny Roberts was heading towards becoming the world champion in 78

Good times indeed Darren ;)
I'm just utterly astounded it was 43 years ago

I went to Mallory park to watch the transatlantic on my FS1e , a lad who'd smashed his bike up the week before went on the back of a 250

We went round the pits after the race , when we got back his ride had ****** off so he looked at me with teary eyes , I couldn't leave him there so we hatched a plan to get back the 30 miles to kettering

He walked out the gate and I left 5 minutes behind him and picked him up , we got about a mile before the blue lights lit the hedgerows up

I didn't know his last name but I did know it wasn't what he told the copper , he spouted some story about having passed his test so he was my instructor , i just stood there looking at the floor, he let us go, we got back to Kettering and I dumped him on the outskirts of town

Copper had let us go with a producer , I was OK but he turned up at the station with somebody else's licence , obviously it didn't work

I eventually got 3 points for carrying an unlicensed passenger, the court initially refused my guilty plea because they considered there to be mitigating circumstances but I really didn't want to take a day off work and ride 30 miles to Leicester on a fizzer for them to decide I was guilty anyway so pleaded guilty again.

Love it but we all did it back then on the Sports Mopeds thinking we were Bikers.
We went to a couple of Radio 1 Roadshows carrying girls on the back I had a Lime Green SS50 5 speed.
The plan being it might lead to a bit of fooling around.

I was there! We always went to the Transatlantic races at Oulton until 1978 when I joined the Police Cadets. There was always a great atmosphere but the Americans were just too strong in the end. Happy days!

I met Peter Powell at a Radio 1 roadshow at Wicksteed Park in kettering

I was having a pee in the 1920s 30ft long gents urinal when he came in, stood a bit closer than I was comfortable with and uttered words that have stuck with me for life

" What a f*ucking s^!t hole "
