As previously mentioned, the Honda RC30 was a Japanese grey import , as denoted by the black mirrors (I didn't know that) and so is limited to 77 BHP.

Probably reflected in the price as it fetched just shy of £27k.

.

A Yamaha OW01 was also under the hammer and that got £23,669, they originally sold for £13k in 1990.

Ive never ridden a motorbike, but you have to start somewhere and I quite like the look of this. Obviously I’ve not a clue whether it’s any good, but I took this shot at a show last autumn and keep looking at it.

CCM make some lovely handbuilt British stuff.

Not sure about the first one but it’s a two stroke, always good for a laugh.

My old smoker, worlds fastest production bike in 1969

Bikes are like shoes , you have to try them on to see if they fit , plus if you haven't got a licence there's a lot more to do than when I passed my test in 1978

It's not a man in a brown suit watching you ride round the block while he ticks boxes on a form these days

Around 2003 I had the urge again, I hadn't ridden a bike for 20 years so my first step was a Kawasaki ER5 , easy to ride and quick enough to start with.

Also the insurance like you to build up to the 2.5s 0-60 bikes

Know what you mean there Darren around 2004 i had a Yamaha R6 for a while and knew it could end badly too quick for me.
I still had my 76 Z1000 which I should never have sold.
The plus side on modern bikes are the brakes and suspension especially when you have had wobble on a 70's superbike.

70s and 80s bikes and cars are crazy money at the moment but I'd sooner spend 10k on that Z900 than 10k on a restored RD400

Though I wish I hadn't seen what looked like a complete RD200 in pieces with pending sold on it @ £250

The guy must've been living in a cave to not know it was worth 10x that even in bits , the 200 is rare because most went for the 250

I had the RD , flat out at 90 though , mate had a KH400 but nobody wanted him at the front because you couldn't see anything for the smoke
I think the first advertised 100mph 250 was the Suzuki X7

When I was doing my degree the guy from Severn Trent WB said two strokes were more environmentally friendly as they meant people wouldn’t be tipping their used oil down the drain.
