Don't really find it that good on a mucky car, but good on a light dusty car. It's just a bit of fun really let's face it!

It is you're right. Doesn't make a huge amount of difference but I would say the paintwork has a slightly more glossy finish to the touch afterwards. Probably makes the shampoo more effective.

Good fun though

Know a detailer here who sells Snow Foam.

Said he uses it as one of the stages to preparing a car.

Clay
Snowfoam
Hose down
Wash
Hose down
2nd Wash
Hose down
Dry
Machine Polish
Wipe off

Amazing results after that procedure.

I bought it all years ago. Don't always use is but this was her first wash from me. Got loads of dirt from around the front and rear window surrounds, the little recess. Plus got the door shuts gleaming.

Only had a couple hours at her just now but felt good. I use to think nothing of spending 6 hours cleaning and detailing. Don't have that time to spare these days but I give my cars a good level of maintenance.

Quick question. What's under the little covers on the drivers and passengers side footwells? There's covere there screwed down but with a little handle to open?

I hope he doesn't start with clay before he's even washed the car! If I'm doing a car thoroughly:

Snow

Wash (2 buckets used)
Rinse
Iron-x
Rinse
Tardis
Rinse
Snow

Clay
Rinse
Wash

Dry
Polish
Glass clean/polish
Wax
Dress tyres
Admire
Sit down complaining of achy back.

No no no, the best method for cleaning your car is to take it to AndyK's house, sit and chat with his lovely wife and kids for a couple of hours, come outside and voila! a beautifully clean and polished car!!! Cheap too hehe. Thanks again Andy.

Tardis?

Required so you can go back in time to finish the job before the petrol is obsolete? ;)

So what does the snow foam do it some are saying not much...Always thought it dislodged the dirt so when you washed it it didn't get on the mit/sponge.

All helps soften and dislodge dirt before you start dragging it accross your paintwork and putting in swirls and scratches, so a good step in some cleaning cycles. Usage does depend on what waxes and sealants you have on the car as with my car which has a long term seal (GTechniq from memory), snowfoam is no used as it is quite agressive and would also strip the sealant, and dirt doesn't bond as well to my car anyway due to the sealant, so a simple rinse before the wash is enough.

Hope that helps!

I add a bit of car shampoo to the 'mix' too.
Infact I have an idea saying that now.
I have installed a hot water tap in the garage now so could fill the dosing bottle with car shampoo and spray the car with hot soapy water after the initial rinse/snowfoam.
Would this be better than dunking a wash mitten in soapy water, but of course still rinsing the mitten in a clean bucket of water between each section of the car?

You see the dirt coming off in the foam. It's one of those steps that 99.99% of people never do. I do genuinely believe you get a slightly smoother finish when using it.

It's like claying, most people would wonder what the **** you were doing dragging blue tac across your car lol. But after a clay session the finish is massively noticeable. Soo smooth

Just a couple of tips I've come across... Try mixing a little Johnsons baby shampoo in with the mix. Makes for a thicker, denser foam and start from the bottom and work upwards, as it helps keep the foam from running off.

I tend not to use snowfoam more than once a year - when I am doing a big big clean. Usually I do put a little bit of normal car shampoo in the detergent dispenser of the jet wash and cover the car with that first of all. It is a bit less fierce, but it still moves lots of the visible dirt when rinsed
